Ratliff, old often hurt
Ware, getting older, often hurt but plays through it
Lee, often hurt, College and last year (IR)
Carter, hurt in College and last year (IR)

Yes, this DL could use some help, the chance the DL can stay healthy and play for 16 games is very SLIM..... FLOYD or Sly WIlliams would of been awesome... but what do I no,,,,,17 years of LOSING has made Jerry look like a HERO

So to address injury concerns you would draft someone who was playing injured last season? Someone tell the FO to hire this man!

hard to get excited about this or the Wilcox picks since it seems like we do this every year now....a DB in the mid rounds no one has heard of from a school no one has heard of and then we wait and wait to see if any of them pan out and recently, it hasn't worked....Berault, Johnson, AA....

For those of you who don't like the pick, we haven't been good enough in the secondary since around 2006.

You can disguise things a lot when you have an elite pass rush but even with one you still have to be able to cover the receivers out there.

I think we should be better there this year with Oscan, Webb and Moore but last year we were pretty thin at the end.

I also think the pick has the potential to save money by putting Oscan on the pay cut list.

Coincidentally, we also haven't had a decent safety since before 2006, and at this moment still don't. We have had, however, no shortage of resources thrown at CBs.

I thought Sterling Moore did a decent job last year. He'll make a nice 5th-CB/S now.
I think Sterling Moore might get a chance to compete at Safety.

We drafted safety in 3 of the last 4 drafts. AOA didn't work out. Johnson was injured all last year. Wilcox hasn't gotten a chance yet.

It is just nature we have spent more at CB as they are harder players to find and get drafted much higher across the board by everyone. Go look at how many CBs the Giants have drafted in recent history. You need a bunch of good ones if you want to win unless you are all-world upfront.

Instead of draft safeties we have signed a couple to $20M dollar deals in the recent past but we didn't pick the right guys in Hamlin and Sensy.

There is still hope for both of the last two picks and we don't really know what we have with either of them. Hopefully Church comes back strong and Allen can provide some veteran depth and start if needed.

None above the fourth round. Meanwhile we used our 1st and 2nd just last year on another CB.

I understand CBs obviously are higher premium positions draft value wise, but we have been throwing picks and $$$ at the position for years now and are still consistently 20th or worst in the league against the pass.

Maybe at some point we should try a different strategy then stockpiling CBs and hoping to get by everywhere else?

Heh what a crazy set of coincidences...

I went to a small school for middle and high school. It was a 6-12 school. As I entered high school, this little kid showed up in the lower school, MAYBE 5 feet tall. His mom was always around, "Hi! I'm B.W.'s mom," she would always say. Everybody recognized her, and enjoyed having her around school. She was always smiling, and always involved with B.W.

Enjoyed reading that. :)

I'm not saying he's a bad player. I just don't get why we refuse to address Dline/Oline more.

I thought you were done with this team?

If not, it just means we have five corners — Carr, Claiborne, Scandrick, Moore and Webb. IMO, that's the minimum good ones you need to compete these days.

Jerry Jones already said that he thinks the defensive line is fine...
:lmao:

.........AL DAVIS JR. HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

..........we will battle it out for last place in the division with the Iggles...Gspots and Skins are tough up front of BOTH sides of the ball and we are woefully weak. They'll get it someday, probably after JJ dies.

Very solid 4th round pick. Good athlete. Good instincts. Will be a solid contributor as a 3rd/4th corner for a long time.
I just got finished mowing the grass at William & Mary.
I like the pick.
I'm GO for this hometown hero.

Jenkins knew how to hit, Giants whiff or no.

The reason he isn't around is because he wanted to start, because he wanted to be paid like a quality starter, and because of the fact that he is better in man, not because he is a bad player.

Only problem that I have is small school and small school competition. But the highlights were OK.

:laugh2: A team terribly weak in the front 7 does nothing to address it in the 1st 4 rounds of the draft.

Terribly weak in the front seven? Dude, had we stayed in the 3-4, I think we had the best linebacking corp in the entire league. As it is, a couple of those guys now move up into the front four, and I think we have to have at least a top five front seven. The only issue is injury, we have no depth.
