As others have said, you obviously have no idea what I was saying. Yes, people can and do lose their lives. I'm fully aware of that. It happened to this team just last year. However, my point was that it doesn't make you a criminal or a person of bad character. It can happen to almost anyone that has a few drinks at dinner or after work. Should it? No, but again, it doesn't make you garbage. I guess you're a Saint.

Well, I have never had a DUI, but I am guilty of having some beers and driving home while a little buzzed.

But, now that Visionary opened up my eyes, I'm never going to drink and drive again! I think I will just go commit armed robberies...much safer!

;)

See my post above no. 34
You said the wrong thing
Admit it and move on instead of compounding it

I'll admit you have no idea what you're talking about. That's pretty much it. Don't respond because I don't like exchanging ideas with s.

The fact that you overcame it doesn't make it okay, it's completely justified to bring it up. I hear what you're saying, but driving drunk can have terrible repercussions, even if it's just once and acting like people judge it the same way they'd judge armed robbery is complete hyperbole.

Not based on some of the posts on here it isn't.

Fact break:

Drunk driving is bad.

People make mistakes.

People learn from mistakes.

People that makes mistakes go on to live normal healthy successfully lives.

People never forget the mistakes they made.

Now back to our conversation..

I hope we don't cast stones at this guy prematurely.

I am not exchanging an idea
I am pointing to a fact
You made a "s" statement
Defending it is just as "s"

Careful
You are defining yourself by implying that DUI is no big deal, "federal agent"

Yeah, I'm defending you, bro! You have opened my eyes.

(I was going to go drive and get a beer, but, I think I will just go rob the local convenience store).

I don't recall any mention by anyone that it was no big deal... The consistent point all along has been that it doesn't mean life is over if someone were to receive a DUI. Is it right to drink & drive? Obviously not. Can a person that receives a DUI pick up and return to the world of productive citizenship? Yes. You're still missing the point.

A DUI is not a felony unless you kill someone, and usually that one mistake can be overcome.

Robbing a gas station with a handgun even if you don't kill someone and you get caught is a felony and the repercussions can be with you the rest of your life.

I got that and agree with it but

He also said

" you would think he had committed armed robbery" as if DUI is somehow an insignificant issue

I would guess more people get killed as a result of DUI than armed robberies

Way to miss the point

Ummm he's talking about character.. You definitely missed the point! dang..

This is the obligatory "DeVonte Holloman had a DUI" thread. This is where we can all discuss how awful it is that they drafted someone who was suspended for a DUI after the Josh Brent situation.

It's silly that a separate thread had to be created for a topic that was already being discussed in the Holloman draft thread. Nice work.
