Nobody better try to pump any rose colored sunshine around here.

The reason we're 8-8 is BECAUSE THIS TEAM DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DRAFT.

We failed on Fasano in the 2nd. We failed on MartyB in the 2nd. Who thinks this will be any different?

yet both those TEs stayed in the NFL. interesting.

as to the other posters, there are other NFL teams making selections as well.

I could care less if they stayed in the NFL. Neither Fasano or Bennett did much to benefit Dallas. Fasano dropped a wide open TD in the divisional round against the Giants, and MartyB was too concerned about making YouTube videos to conduct himself professionally when we really had a shot to make some noise.

first of all werent you quitting? and second of all, do all problems land on teh player? i dont think so, we had some coaches who shouldnt have been here and we had some players who werent.

I dont need to explain to you NOT every team hits on the draft and NOT every drafted player is the reason you are in the playoffs. Period.

As for some draft picks, you cant have all the players, sorry there are other teams out there, thinking and dare i say WITH the same plan as Dallas does, take the the most talented or fill a need player that they can get. Its NOT a secret, the same as any offensive coach out there, the game plan is the same, go forward. THe same is said of the draft.

Remind me again what a once in a generation pick Reggie Bush was? I remember Houston dumping Charley because they felt he took the wrong player in the draft. Look how that turned out. Reggie Bush has DONE NOTHING in the NFL.

Get a grip.

First of all, if it bothers you that much, block me. It was clearly said tongue in cheek and was venting frustration.

Second of all, you're missing the point. I'm not expecting them to hit on ALL their draft picks. But we have a terrible track record in the 2nd round, especially regarding TE's. Not to mention it was a luxury pick, not something that can really help this team out. I don't want every pick to be forced to fit a need, but spending a 2nd round pick on a TE for the 3rd time in 7 years seems a bit excessive and forced.

Romo and the Cowboys had one of the best teams in regards to total yards last season. They were one of the worst teams in points. They draft a possession receiver and tight end and a offensive linemen. It makes perfect sense why they went the way they did. That's exactly what a team should do if they can't score points.

So you don't think being 31st in rushing had anything to do with that?

Because apparently neither does Jerry.

Did you listen or read anything the front office was saying about this pick?

***************ZONE TRIVIA***********

Name the last high round "Head scratcher" that the cowboys drafted, and you looked back on and said "Wow, the cowboys really got that one right"

a lot of people head scratched Sean Lee....and Bruce Carter the very next year

That is exactly what Witten ran at his Tennessee pro day in 2003, to top it all off he was the #1 TE that year but yet was drafted in the third round and look how that turned out.

As for the Escobar pick was kind of surprised at it but at the end of the day they had their reason to draft him as for the 40 time, he compares to Witten in that regard.

Witten clearly became the #1 TE, but I know Dallas Clark went in the first that year, and I think a few TEs went before him.

Yes, that they're going to change the offense to fit him, etc.

They're going to say all the right things. I dont really take anything Jerry Jones has to say as truth. He's going to say all the right things to sell tickets.

I thought you were done with the team. What are you still doing here?

Why are you replying? If you can't pick up on frustration and tongue in cheek comments, I obviously am not done with the team.

Block me if it bothers you.

That is correct Dallas Clark went to the Colts in the first round, and the only TE that was taken in the first in 2003.

Clark was a very good TE before injuries started to take a toll on him though that is for sure.

The combine tape of Tom Brady is the worst I've ever seen.
Exactly his tape was the worst had no muscle definition whatsoever and yet is a three time SB champion, and sure fire Hall of Famer.

Another thing what if the Patriots had drafted Brady with their first rounder in 2000 we all know how Bellichick and Co would've been crucified by the media and Patriot fans alike at the end of the day it really doesn't matter where a player is taken in the draft the ultimate question is can he play.

he led his team in receptions. every opponent knew he was the one to stop so the put cb's on him, doubled him and he still got open. i was no fan of a TE at that spot but they player will be a nice asset to have and will be a starter in the two te set which will be our base this year. 17 td's and is a nightmare in the red zone to cover. and he will get to learn from one of the best to ever play the game

Garrett just talked about how they want to run two TE sets like the Patriots with Witten/Escobar on NFLN.
