Picked up pieces from the Chiefs' game

Keith Brooking was a mad man Sunday. He was all over the field. He is an emotional leader. He makes plays when it matters most. He had a sack for the first time since 2007, but he came up with an unreal tackle of Jamaal Charles on a screen play.
He was cut by guard Mike Goff, which should have given Charles an opening. Instead Brooking scrambled to his feet and made the tackle. An unreal effort.
** Brooking's 7-yard sack in the second quarter was also a momentum swinger. Leading 10-0, the Chiefs moved to the Dallas 47 on a 20-yard completion to Dwayne Bowe but a blitzing Brooking came up with a sack on the next play. The Chiefs eventually punted.
** David Buehler is a big, big weapon. Not only does he have his touchbacks but he is placing the kickoffs outside the numbers in the corner, limiting returns. One thing to note - most of his kickoffs go to the right. He attemped one kickoff to the left and didn't hit it good.
** The running backs did a better job at picking up the blitz in this game than in any other. Marion Barber can stone blitzers. Tashard Choice prefers the chop move, but on Miles Austin's winning touchdown Choice came up with a nice pick up of safety Jon McGraw. The Chiefs rushed seven on that play.
** Martellus Bennett hasn't been involved in the passing game much, but he and Jason Witten are a big reason why the running game is so effective. They can seal edges and did so on Tashard Choice's TD run and big 24-yard pickup in OT. They also did it on a 17-yard gain by Barber. They're strong at the point of attack.
** Jay Ratliff attempted to deflect credit for his blocked field goal to Marcus Spears and Igor Olshansky but there's not another nose tackle that can make that play. He noticed Goff and longnsapper Thomas Gafford lowered their heads at the snap to get leverage. Twice before Ratliff attempted his leapfrog. He nearly got Ryan Succop's 38-yarder. I can't believe the Chiefs weren't prepared for the same move.
** Why are the Cowboys having such a hard time getting a play in? Twice in the first half they had to call a timeout before the playclock ran out. On the first, Miles Austin was late to the huddle and they get the line until 11 seconds left. On the second it was down to 12 seconds and Patrick Crayton was in motion with three seconds left before Tony Romo called a timeout.
** Mat McBriar was unable to spin the laces away from Nick Folk on Folk's 40-yard field goal try that was hooked to the left. On the TV copy you see McBriar grab his helmet in disbelief.
** Are the Cowboys somehow tipping their screens? The Chiefs snuffed out two of them in the first half to running backs and we didn't see one called again.
