Picken annoyance part 2

Ok.....but you have to quit going to the kitchen or bathroom during the game.......missing a lot of undisciplined or bonehead plays. Wait until commercials.
yeah, not excusing any other dumb stuff, just saying there's no reason to ignore just because he's not the only one. especially because he's such a difference maker.

I made a past post about Pickens and his tomfoolery during games were dallas is getting stomped and fellow fans jumped down my back about it.

I am continuing to stand on it. The guy yet again found a way to taunt during another uneven game that didn't include the cowboys on the high end, only this time it drew a flag.

I dont care how good he is, make your play and get back to the huddle for the next.

Imagine dallas actually being in a game and stupidity like that actually cause them the game (example, a flag actually knocking them out of winning FG range or some other crazy situation that can effect game outcome.

He wants to do things like this on a your where the league is super strict on taunting. If this was two years ago then ok, but not in 2025.

The guy is an idiot with talent....in a nutshell.
You do realize there's a long list of this I get it but CD Lamb does a lot of the same things he just does it more passively aggressively kind of away from the ref george Pickens did do that with the ball and it was stupid and I'm tired of all the celebrating from the entire team for 1st downs in the game your 3 scores down in..

But how about other fumbles ferguson Williams how about the drop passes over and over by lots of players but Turpin is starting to get under my nerves again he's becoming less and less a player instead of improving he's getting worse He's not even running back in place since he came back from injury he's not a good receiver he's not even giving us positive plays and punts and kicks the last three or four games..

Why do you feel the need to pick on George Pickens when there's plenty of this garbage to go around for the whole team mental mistakes penalties Taunting ridiculous Just bad I mean it's bad last night it fell apart it's leaking over onto the offense now where they're not mentally focused I think they're so focused on everyone thinking they need to score on every touch now they're forgetting the small things...

It picked on Blue last week for his fumble and said well Williams touches the Baltimore well now what he's done it in two critical moments in the red zone these were big those two fumbles last night were huge..

How about the offensive line they only gave up five sacks I believe maybe 6 there should have been 10 I mean Prescott was running for his life that was the biggest part of the last two weeks failures on offense is the offensive line not blocking well especially in the past game they are bad at pass blocking...

I agree. We got enough foolishness from this current team .........I can't imagine "film day" by the coaching staff, but would love to be in the room.

Sad to say, but lucky he has not had multiple penalties.

With that said. He has been a very good player and weapon for this team.

He is still young and just has to stop with the taunting.

In some ways this guy reminds me of Dez. All the talent, loves the game, very emotional and just a young guy that needs to change some things.

There's no need to do this just like last week they're picking on Jayden Blue for his fumbles wow here we go we got fumbles by Williams again and this was in a critical time really critical time same thing critical time for Ferguson to be fumbling the football stop signaling out players that annoy you and that you think is detrimental to the team because that would be just about all of them They all played horrible the last two weeks now on all sides of the ball and signaling out specific players makes you look bad and I'm calling you out stop it the team's not playing well there are plenty of stuff to go around and we get it he's the type of player that likes to be extra we'll just use the word extra and yes it's going to get us in trouble someday but at 15 yard penalty in the grand scheme of things it did not hurt the team because we were out of it but yes someday we're going to be in a tight game and and and that it's going to take us out of scoring range and it's going to be a big deal I get it he needs to stop taunting and stop for one all of our players need to stop celebrating after 1st downs or even a score when you're still 3 scores down just hand the ball to the ref and go to the sideline and I don't want to see you be happy..

That is the whole team my man stop picking on George Pickens now you had to make a part two dude you're just a bad person you're delusional the teams playing bad and you're picking on one individual He does more good than bad..

Although I'm on this side of the argument on whether you should trade the man and I think you franchise tag him with either a first or 2nd round tender let them seek offers if it's really good and you think it's worth it you match it but I'd rather take a 2nd rounder or even better a 1st rounder and let him leave and get another wide receiver in the draft and elevate Flournoy.. but not because of his taunting penalties...

I mean if you want to add that in there that's fine but I just think as a team it's the same thing when you look at the persons trade it doesn't look great now but it could be the best thing for the team with his attitude and all the things that happened leading up to it his body language I think it might be in the team's best interest to maximize your value and trade George Pickens maybe not today but before the draft franchise tag him in February or whatever first week of March and try to get what you can for him and move on the team needs more money for the defense we have a really good offense most of the time even without him and I think I'd rather sign Williams..

So are you on the "we should have kept Dowdle" side? I mean he did the same dumb type thing and made their win more difficult.

I believe Pickens has a fuse that is always lit. At some point he could go off.

But I don't think what he did last night was that egregious. These guys on the field are trying to win, but they are also fighting personal battles on every play. Was it dumb? Yes. Every player should know that's a penalty. The rule isn't new. But tell me those dumb celebrations after a TD, or a turnover where the entire team runs into the end zone is not taunting in some fashion.

Trust me, I hate when teams down by a lot celebrate a play but it is what it is in the NFL now.
All I'm saying is, it is what it is to follow fans until it cost the cowboys a game. Imagine the cowboys by some miracle making the playoffs...I am will to bet that every fan that is giving Pickens a pass on this, will not want to hear a peep out of him in an important game like that.

many of us just got lost when you mentioned playoffs.....miracle or not for this year.

Especially true of the Cowboy players who think it’s about them and not about the team, and guess where they learned that behavior? From Jerry.
There's a lot you can beat Jerry up for but the entitlement of todays players has absolutely nothing to do with him. Every team has the same idiots that think making a tackle is celebration worthy.

unfortunately we live in the era of "look at me". Most of these football players are overpaid toddlers that think everything has to be a production.
Look at my era. My era was worse. Pom poms, Sharpies. Actually celebrations are dang near non existence compared to the 80s and 90s celebrations.

I love it when they are slapping hands like little girls did back in the '60s and '70s. Patty cake, patty cake.
I wish the garbage man would jump out of the truck and start jerking around like he has a deuce hanging out every time he dumps a trash can in the back. Why can't other idiots celebrate for doing their job? "Look at me, I just dumped a trash can." *jumps around like a crackhead*

You never know how any athlete is going to behave once they get ther big payday. But I would still bet on Pickens. He is truly made for the moment. People seem to forget Charles Haley was a basket case, but his antics were excused because he was also a winner.

My favorite all time example of this was in one of Campo’s 5-11 seasons Darren Hambrick, yes the famous Darren Hambrick what do voluntary mean, got a TFL in the last game of the season and he started dancing. We were getting completely blown out and even the game announcers were saying “just go back to the huddle, you’re getting blown out on a 5-11 team”. I was like wow I’ve never heard the announcers say something like that.

Darren Hambrick, so many memories

Understand your opinion. He's been productive. CD has given us his moments before too. Let's not do that. We have far more issues than Pickens and his taunting penalty or anything you want to castigate him for. He was wrong. No need to vilify him when so much gets overlooked, dismissed, or disregarded that spells undisciplined play on this team and has enabled opponents' drive to continue or our drives to stifle.
It's one thing to drop a ball, jump offsides, or get a PI...those are all bad...but doing something you know will get you a penalty (or at least should know) is worse, IMO. The guy's got the talent, but not every talented player is cocky.

That's why I liked Irvin because he never drew attention to himself. It was just score the touchdown and give the ball to the ref. Just picked up a first down on 3rd and long? Good, get back to the Huddle and get ready for the next play.

Now you have guys like Pickens and it's just not right. It's not sportsmanlike.
I feel like you don't remember Irvin very well. Almost every time he got a first down, he did that weird stretching squat, reach the ball toward the end zone thing. Back then, that was seriously showboating.

Remember........production means tolerance is elevated. Tolerance vanishes when production is low. Talk to him and then leave it alone. Pickens is the least of our many issues on the field.
