Pickens Greater Than Sir Drop-A-Lot

I will say this, Pickens drops passes too. He dropped a slant pass that if he catches it, is a house call last week. At Pittsburgh he had a tremendous problem catching the ball.

I like having both and Flournoy at 3. The best WR trio that we’ve had since T.O., Terry Glenn and Patrick Crayton.
This is a hunch, coupled with the ole eyeball test, but I feel Flournoy will become a star soon. It could make Pickens or ceedee even more dynamic if this kid runs wild. He's got yac written all over him. That's not what CD and Pickens are. But he can be. He's electric.

I consider your response as a “no” to $35 million per season.
I don't have a problem with it But I think most of today's athletes are drastically overpaid. But the NFL players from the 60s and 70s were drastically underpaid so that evens out in my book.

At the end of the day I think it is all kinda stupid. Men playing a children's game demanding millions. And greedy owners making billions from fanatics who are usually couch potatoes trying to live vicariously through the exploits and achievements of pro athletes.

Normally as a distraction from their own lives which they are not happy with or they feel inadequate with their own self achievements.

GP3's good but the same route he dropped vs GB, he dropped today as well. Those are both TD's if he squeezes them. One of those drops might have been the backbreaker vs GB.
I think he failed to look in the one that he dropped against Green Bay. Dropped it for the same reason that Lamb dropped his against the Eagles, trying to run with the ball and assuming the catch. The one against the Jets got through traffic and I don't think he expected it to make it through cleanly. His hands weren't quite in the right position for where the ball ended up.

We're so unused to having more than one good thing at a position that we have to argue over which is better. We need both.

I will say this about Lamb. In big games he seems to choke. I kind of feel like Pickens vs GB has already proven to be more clutch than any big game Lamb has had here. Lamb seems to eat vs bad teams.
Being a curious sort I went and looked up some playoff caliber opponents and how CeeDee has done against them.

2025-09-04 - Against the defending Super Bowl champions. 7 catches 110 yards
2024-12-22 - Against NFC South Champion Bucs 7 for 105 (Cooper Rush game)
2024-11-24 - Against NFC Championship game runner up Ratscums 10 for 67 (cooper Rush game)
2023-12-23 - Against NFC Championship runner up Lions 13 for 227 1 TD (career best for catches and yards)
2023-11-05 - Against the playoff bound Eagles 11 for 191 1 TD a playoff team.

So I only made it back to midseason of 2023 and found already 4 100 yard games and one 200 yard game. And the two best games of his career seen to have come against the Lions and Eagles in 2023.

He also had 100+ yards in both of his last two playoff games..

Kinda looks to me like Lamb eats against everybody.

I'm off to see the "drops" stats of the other 3.

(no challenge intended! Just curious if this "drops" thing is real!)
I saw a graphic that said Jamar Chase and CeeDee were #1 and #2 in drops since 2021. Chase was #1 until Lamb overtook him in the Philly game. My guess is with Lamb out Chase has reclaimed the crown. Even the best drop some.. It is what it is.. I think CeeDee got it out of his system in one game.. We won't see a repeat of that until he's like 40 and half blind.

I suppose this is like MLB home run hitter....leads in strikeouts? But also HR's RBIs,etc.

LOL...CD hitting 40....you got me good!

I think guys who fancy themselves a playmaker are gonna drop a few trying to set themselves up to make a move the instant they catch it. The best at this snatch the ball out of the air and tuck it while turning upfield. However sometimes the ball will trick you and come in at an angle that won't allow you to do that. A ball coming right at your face is one of the hardest to catch because of the whole depth perception thing. Add in a DB pullin at you and you got all kinda fun comin your way. It's a skill to be sure. Some have it, some don't. I was lucky in that I could catch the ball from the time I was like 4 years old. It was never hard for me... so when I was younger I always had difficulty understanding why it was hard for some others.. Eventually I just learned to accept the gift and keep it movin. I will say this.. in high school I found out about guys who throw with "big league velocity" my junior year. Our QB that year was Tim Groves, who got a full ride to U of Florida. Ironically he went there the same time as Collinsworth. Both failed miserably at QB. Collinsworth got moved to WR and Tim got moved to safety. Anyway, the first time I ever played catch with Tim at practice he about broke my fingers.. I could literally hear the ball whistling as it approached. And there were no gloves for us back then.. The hands took all the smoke.. pun intended!!

Dak was having a horrible season until Amari got here. It's possible that without Amari that Dak wouldn't have got the contract he has today.
And what does that have to do with Dak helping Amani get paid?

Dak wasn't the one who was kicked off his team cause he was playing bad. It was Cooper . And he had his best seasons in his career here with Dak. Not with any other QB Meanwhile Dak has played better with other WRs.

XD We gave up a first round pick to acquire Cooper. Dak was having a failing season before Amari Cooper rejuvenated his career. Are you trying to rewrite that history?

AI Overview

The statement that Amari Cooper rejuvenated Dak Prescott is widely supported by statistical evidence and commentary from their time together on the Dallas Cowboys from 2018 to 2021
. Before Cooper's arrival, Prescott and the Cowboys' passing game were struggling, but the midseason trade for Cooper in 2018 immediately revitalized the offense.

Prescott's performance before and after the 2018 Cooper trade

The effect of Amari Cooper's arrival was immediate and dramatic, as Prescott's passing statistics saw a significant increase.

The "Cooper effect" on Prescott's larger career

In the years that followed, Cooper's impact helped unlock a new level of consistency for Prescott's career.

  • Elevated play: According to CBS Sports, Prescott and Cooper "have each elevated each other's games". Over the 18 games they played together spanning the 2018 and 2019 seasons, Prescott had a 69.8% completion rate, averaged 8.2 yards per attempt, and threw 32 touchdowns.
  • Statistical boost: A comparison of Prescott's overall statistics with and without Cooper further highlights the boost. With Cooper, Prescott averaged more passing yards and touchdowns per game, along with a significantly higher passer rating.
    • With Cooper (44 games): 13,084 passing yards, 88 touchdowns, 27 interceptions, and a 102.9 passer rating.
    • Without Cooper (41 games): 8,999 passing yards, 55 touchdowns, 23 interceptions, and a 92.9 passer rating.
  • A true No. 1 receiver: Cooper's ability to consistently create separation and win one-on-one matchups gave Prescott a reliable, elite target that stretched defenses. This improved Prescott's timing and decision-making, helping him to develop as a quarterback.
Life without Cooper

The impact of Cooper's departure via trade in 2022 was also noticeable. Analysts wondered if Prescott could maintain his elite status without Cooper. In the nine games Cooper missed due to injury during his time in Dallas, the team's offense and Prescott's passer rating both took a hit.

Who was traded because he was playing bad? Did Dak have his best seasons with Amari or did Amari have his best seasons with Dak?

Amari Cooper's stats before and after coming to Dallas. It's clear as day he got paid because he came to Dallas and was able to "elevate" his game playing with Dak. He wasn't doing it in Oakland with Carr.

Good thing you need multiple WRs. Unnecessary thread trying to create drama. Go watch General Hospital.
Comb your beard and calm down. What threads are necessary? And who is this topic causing drama with? Unaffiliated U.S. couch potatoes with their keyboards or actual players and coaches who impact the game?

Contemplate this on the Tree Of Woe.
