Pickens in Beast Mode

I will give the front office credit for one thing. They acquired two all world talents in Pickens and Q Williams. They’ve figured out keeping your own alone doesn’t work.
This is why I was all for making trades. This front office hasn't changed its approach to free agency, but it has shown it is willing to trade for talent. That's the only hope we have outside of the draft of improving this roster.

“Thats why Dak like throwing to him” as if Ceedee hasnt has more targets per game than Pickens….
And that number will rise if Pickens keeps performing the way he is.....can CD handle the lack of attention if pickens gets more balls his way......we'll see

We got him for a fairly low price because of character concerns over three seasons in Pittsburgh. He's had a few dumb penalties since he's been here, such as for the celebration tonight. He's proven his receiving abilities, which we already knew he had. Give him another year to show if his character will hold up.
How is AJ Brown looking right now? Jamaar Chase? give me a break. Pickens played with absolute garbage for his career in pitt. Sign him... you dont need to see more.

I think they need to set up the run with the pass. Once the pass game got going, the running lanes opened up.

Jerry better make him an offer soon. Picken's price is only going up each game.
Exactly Jerry can't do what he usually does and wait, extend Pickens now this guy is special. Best wide receiver since Michael Irvin if you ask me.

I don't think there's anything wrong with tagging him, and it will cost us less than his agent will be seeking per year. If his agent wants to accept a long-term deal at the tag APY, then sure, go for it. But the tag is there as a negotiating tool and we should use it. And there's nothing wrong with that.

ahhh, then why didnt we tag Parsons?

Pickens is what Dez Bryant aspired to be. So often Dez would catch the ball and try to break free, twisting around and 9 times out of 10 he'd only get an extra yard or two. GP is ridiculous after the catch!
I love Pickens, but I think youre remembering Dez post-foot injury.

Parsons was under contract. We had accepted his fifth-year option.

The tag's value is an average of the top five players at his position over the last five years or 120 percent of his previous salary. I'm not sure what the receiver tag will actually be, but I've read that it will be $24 million to $26 million. I'm pretty sure Pickens' agent will be asking for at least $30 million APY.

The disadvantage of using the tag for the team is that it has to pay the full $24-$26 million next year while a long-term deal would allow it to pro-rate bonuses and get his first-year cost probably under $10 million.
