A pit bull stopped five people from robbing a home and may have saved his owners life.
Christopher Payne told Bibb County sheriff's deputies when a group of people tried to rob him his dog Dino attacked and scared off intruders.
But Christopher said his 120 pound pit bull Dino is a friendly playful dog.
However Tuesday night Dino jumped into action when two men trying to rob him knocked on the door.
"I answered the door," Payne said. "When I answered the door a guy put a gun to my head and walked me in here. That's when Dino come out." He said Dino came out and attacked the men.
"He's was jumping on them, biting them. I don't know if he latched on to any of them, but they didn't want to stick around to find out," said Payne.
Lieutenant George Meadows with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office said that distraction allowed two other women in the house to run next door and call 911.
Meadows said the two men inside and three more outside the home drove off, but minutes later a sheriff's deputy arrested 21-year old Dennis Andre Searcy, 19 year old Brandon Garrett, 18 year old Joey Tidewell, 19 year old Eric Lamar Jackson, and a 16 year old juvenile.
They face several criminal charges including armed robbery and false imprisonment.<br>Payne said Dino knows he was a good boy.
"He knows he done something good cause he been acting different. Every time someone comes to the door he's at the door."
But now Payne said Dino's back to playful licking and tail wagging.
