Shoot, I'll probably miss the first home game at the new stadium entirely! I'm going to Munich for Oktoberfest on Sept. 15th (arrive on 16th). I just saw that the very first game at new stadium is Sunday, Sept. 20th... I figured that I might be able to find a sports bar that's opened late, until I saw that it's a 8:20 PM eastern time game! That's 2:20 AM Monday in Munich... D'oh! So, even if I find a sports bar downtown (staying between MarienPlatz and the W'eisen area, right by main train station), I doubt that they be open then.

Anybody have any suggestions as to places over in downtown Munich? I know there's a few folks on here from Germany, as well as veterans that might know (Crazy Cowboy).
I'm probably just going to have to miss it playing at that hour over there!

I'm living in Augsburg, germany right now and ive been down to munich a few times. You shouldnt have any problems finding a sports bar that stays open late, especially around the train station. The main problem would be one that picks up Nfl games. Enjoy Munich! Go to the Augustina Brewery which is directly out of the main train station, its has the best beer in Munich!

Yeah, I've been to Augustiner - and you're right, they do have the best beer in Munich. This will be my fourth time there. Last time was back in 2005, and I think Augustiner was the last place I was at my last night there!

# The Arc Pub - in Maxvorstadt
# Feuerberg - in Giesing
# Hard Rock Cafe - in the city center
# Champions Bar at the Marriott Hotel - in north Schwabing

I did a quick google. These places in Munich showed the Super Bowl between the Giants and Patriots. Maybe they'll show this game considering it's the first game in the new stadium? Call them and see, maybe?

Thanks a lot! I did a Google search myself before posting, looking for "Sprts bars in Munich" and also "Dallas Cowboys fans in Munich". Kept getting references to FC Bayern being "The Dallas Cowboys of soccer"! I will call a few of these spots (I've been in Hard Rock just to look - it's across the street from "The best bar in the world" - Hofbrauhaus! Thanks!

It may be possible to get a stream on the internet... If you have internet access... If not it will probably be on ESPN America (formerly NASN) http://www.espnamerica.com/ you will have to wait awhile before they put the scheduled game up...If you need anything while you are here let me know.... though I am up in the Stuttgart region a good 2 1/2 hour drive or more from Munich

i had this exact situation in '06. went to an irish pub right off the marienplatz. towards the wiesen. it was in a basement but couldn't tell you the name, sorry. was staying at the Bayer Ischerhoffer hotel, and it was only a couple of blocks from that. they were showing games thru sky or some other euro sports channel. but they closed around 3:30 a.m. so did not get to see the whole game.

Good Luck and enjoy!

edit to say: it is hard to remember details on those trips lol. it was '05 against the Chargers that i did that. and i think it was a late afternoon game. but i do remember the bar closing at half. anyway, you'll find something.
