We used it a ton but it was usually very subtle play fakes. It doesn't work if you don't have a run game to speak of though.

Tony barely sells the fake. He makes a casual play fake, like he forgot it was a play fake until the last second.

Romo does at least 4 variations of play action fakes, you just have to watch his helmet, hands, and shoulders closely.

Thru 6 games, I have Dallas as running 56 play action fakes, though some of them were on runs (fake run up middle/end around, or run up middle/fake end around). That doesn't include pump fakes, BTW, which I'm close to considering a version of play action.

Agreed. Even Peyton Manning has a good sell in his repetoire.

We have it, but it isn't very good. Part is because Romo doesn't sell it amazingly well (though I think he is improving) and because our running game isn't doing to well right now anyway.

Theres not much to fake when you don't have a run game.

The defense will play pass either way, probably knowing that the front 7 can stop the run.

As others have said, it is not very effective when your opponent doesn't fear the run.
