Bingo, thats the thing. They make too many mistakes to be a consistently good team. It's a crapshoot as to what Dallas team is going to show up. I dont expect them to play mistake free ball, but I do hope for it, and know that it is possible.

And I think we're a better team right now than the 2007 team. That team got alot of bounces to go their way that year. We may not end up with a better record, but I think we can be better.

We just have to hope we can play relatively mistake free football and I like our chances going foward in whatever game we play.

...i'm not so sure of that...Dallas was 8-1 after nine games...ranked 3rd with a very high DVOA of 41.6%, compared to 21.1% this year...the only fluke game Dallas probably should've lost in that stretch was the Buffalo game...otherwise their margin of victory was a whopping 15.25 ppg, including the beatdown of Philly at the Linc...

2007

3...DAL.....41.6%...3...39.0%...8-1...28.3%...3...-12.8%...6...0.5%...14

...Dallas was ranked 8th among the best teams since 1994...

2009

8...DAL.....21.1%...5...22.5%...6-3...20.3%...4...3.2%...19...4.0%...6

...i do believe they are better on defense than 2007 [they are giving up 3 ppg less] although the '07 defense had 5 more turnovers at this point in the season...but they are behind the 07 offense, which saw Romo throw 36 td passes...he's on pace to throw only 26 this year...they are on pace for less touchdowns across the board...the '07 offense was averaging 32.8 ppg during this stretch compared to 24.9 ppg currently...that's 1 touchdown per game less...

...bottom line is the fact that this is the same offensive line for the past three years...we missed Kosier last year and now Columbo this year but the protection issues still have'nt been totally solved even when the entire line was intact...the last time the line played really well was the middle part of 2007...they've now given up 22 sacks when they only had 24 for the entire 2007 season...they are on pace to give up even more than last years 31...i hope the front office is paying attention because the big boys upfront are starting to show some wear...

...this team will be better if the protection shows some significant improvement going forward, otherwise the offense will continue to struggle...unless of course Dallas makes the running game priority one, which i highly doubt...this is rather sobering once you consider the events of last sunday...all the more reason to commit to running the ball more...

...we should all hope that Free can hold down RT because to disturb the interior line at this point of the season would make blitz pickup and the running game even more difficult...Proctor was a disaster last year...

Bingo. But I'm sure that was Jason's fault too. :laugh2:

Flo got injured - missed a play, Kozier suffered an ankle sprain during the game, Gurode was carrying an injury from the Philly game and Columbo breaks a bone in his leg. Pretty tough win under those circumstances.

...and this illustrates the point of protection and the running game...these guys will be hobbled from here on until the end of the season...it's rare to survive an entire season unscathed and most lineman are playing with something nagging that does'nt always make it to the injury report...all i can say is they will have to dig deep and hold on because there's still a long way to go and no depth left for the offensive line...the next guy that goes down could doom the offense...

...Green Bay's line is as decimated as you can find but they still got it done...

Green Bay's line allowed four sacks and had a fifth wiped out by a hands-to-the-face penalty on Mike Jenkins, which didn't affect the play.

If I were Garrett there'd be drives i'd be running three plays in a row, four if I felt i still needed a first down.

We didn't have that problem last year or the year before, so something has changed.

What is the statistical difference between 2007, 2008 and 2009? Both in attempts and percentage...

I was a 9-7 guy before the season so 6-3 is ahead of the game for me.

I was disappointed with the GB game, but they simply outplayed us at the LOS.

Because this OL is always in shotgun formation even when trying to run... Garrett tries to finesse people with this personnel an it doesn't work.

Mistakes happen when your team is all over the place. Mistakes are reduced when you achieve tempo and are patient and establish some sore of synchronization.
