Playbook tells us what's wrong with our O

Poor OL execution on run plays. The OL doesn't identify their blockers well, doesn't get to them when they know who to block and can't get to another level unless it's a draw.

Just watch the coaches break us down. Unless this OL gets overhauled or something shoved up their A**, they aren't going to change. I really would love to see Free on the left tackle spot and see how he does.

Billick said it best in one of the segments:

"The Cowboys run well and they pass well but they don't Run AND Pass well at the same time."

You'll notice the next time we scored was off play action...

This has been an over rated offensive line for a long time... Romo and his ability to move around makes them look better than they actually are.

To think i was slobbering all over Hudson Houck. He has been a failure this year.

The first time he left many were happy he left because they were not playing well.
When he was gone and they still were not playing well people were hollering for him to be back here.
Now that he is back and they are not playing well...well people are hollering at him.

It comes a point and time that maybe the coach is not the problem. Might just be the players or not the players to fit a scheme another coach wants.

I don't even blame him. The chef can't make Filet Mignon out of Chuck.

And to think that this doesn't even show the Green Bay game when our guys repeatedly had no idea who to block on blitzes.

But I'm with you on Houck. I don't know if he got too old or what, but he's the highest paid OL coach in history and we still underachieve there. And that's with some pretty talented players. Very disappointing.

I will say that on the Cowboys Huddle show on Sunday mornings, they do a spot with a different position coach each week, and a week or two ago it was Houck's turn. He seemed to have no energy or add any insight whatsoever, unlike a guy like Reggie Herring. Maybe Houck is just too old.

Dilfer, I think, said that we play effectively on both sides of the ball, but we just can't make THE play we need to in order to win some of these games. Good point. We are in all these games. At times, dominate in these games, and just can't make THE one play we need to win! A fumble, give up a 3rd and long, a penalty.....Really, ever sice the playoff loss to NY it seems that way to me. That is what is frustrating.

Yes, just remember how "good" they were with Bleedslow back there at QB.

Maybe Shannahan and his cut block scheme would be good for us, since our elephant OL block like mini horses.

It's crazy that I said a couple of months ago that I was ready for the Flozell era to end and I was told that I had no clue what I was talking about. I don't blame Flozell, he's O-L-D. We need to find a replacement for Gurode as well.

Garrett doesn't help things as too many of his playcalls are predictable and you know what's coming. I'm still for Houck, we need to get him his players and so far it seems like we've only gotten one of them, and that's a rookie on I-R. He does seem to like Doug Free, but that wasn't his pick. Need to get Colombo and Brewster healthy next year, cut Flo and put Free in at LT (Free did well against Justin Tuck so I'm not too concerned about him) and then draft a center with some smarts and maybe groom him to start in 2011.

Imagine what our RB's could do if the o-line did their job once in a while.

I don't understand pulling your guard from the 1 yd line at all. Our OL just need to be in tight formation and Frick*!# run straight ahead. Anderson lead block and let Barber fall forward for 1 yd.

You start pulling linemen and create holes for penetration so the smaller, quick LB hit you in the backfield.

Call run play to our strength.

Blame the coaches, the schemes, the play calling, or whatever you want, but the players are the ones who have to make it work. There's players on this team who have no desire to execute properly knowing ful well there is no consequences to making mistakes. No accountability for the players.

I've said it before, if this team played a good game, (not great) on offense, defense and special teams, they would be unstoppable. But when one unit plays well the others relax. We have not played a complete game in a long, long time.

I wish we could upgrade at LT,LG and C.

Flo is old and just about done

Kosier is overrated because his backup(proctor) is trash.

Gurode is as dumb as a box of rocks.

I thought Kosier was the missing link on the line last year?

Anyone see that route Gurode ran last week? One analyst called it the best route ever run by an offensive lineman. :laugh2:
