It's around the time of free agency, everyone is talking about it on here. I ask you what good is bringing in players to this team, if we don't have the right attitude and mental makeup to beat teams we often struggle with?? We could bring in every top free agent, but if we're not mentally and physically out playing these teams, what are we doing?? Sure we need to fill the roster, but the attitudes must be right in all 3 phases of the team, the coaches and ownership!

We can do this, I believe we can, I believe we're bringing in good staff!

Please give your thoughts

Bold> You have correctly identified a 31-year-old problematic variable in constructing the best culture for a true winning equation.

Your fellow members have known the solution for a very long time. You should ask Jerry Jones for his thoughts instead.

The best way to end these threads is to bring him into the fold.

I officially endorsed him and @Ranching seconded the motion.

Hes here 24/7, he was a legend on the old site and his first campaign promise is to put @Risen Star likes back to zero.

Its inevitable so lets all get behind it and make it happen

Attitude comes w/ talent. If you don't have the talent, all the attitude in the world won't do you any good.

I think I seen this topic and question before, but asked in a different way.

Is it not partly up to the coaches to instill that attitude?

Some players have it, others need to be coached to have it. And it can't be determined always by interviews. A player can say what they want the team to hear.

I'm not sure what this means...but I feel compelled to give it a like....

I would think the players would "instill" their own "attitude".

Troy Aikman did it one time. A TRUE leader.

More about a players attitude.

Years ago, in that late 80's, early 90's. Went to a dentist for annual cleaning. He was a Washington fan, as I always wore my Dallas stuff. So he made sure they always put me in the room with his Washington team stuff, so the in the chair I had to look at it.

Anyway he told me one of his patients played for the NY Jets. I can't remember who it was. But he was a DL.
Said he was the nicest guy you would want to meet.
The player told him, as soon as they put on the pads. and tightened them up, his demeanor changed. He was ready to go hit people.

So attitude is hard to determine at times. Go by can they play and are athletic first.

Very good point

Very much so and that's where I think Parker comes into. Just look he's young talented he communicates well, he's strong in his beliefs. This is motivating and hopefully it trickles onto the players. I love shotty and his energy and the things he wants for this team. I think players will adapt to this, hopefully it shows on the field. I'm ready to see change!!

The players attitudes on this team mirror their owner they're all about making money marketing and supporting the brotherhood.

Hard for players develop a tough winning attitude when their owner blatantly doesn't care about winning and won't go all in.

Probably doesn't take long for players that come here to adopt the attitude of getting paid and protecting your career
It sucks because winning the big game doesn't seem to be the common goal, resetting the market is

I think that ship is sailed with Jerry he's won enough championships and Steven is not going to have his inheritance spent by extravagant spending on free agents.

Besides if Jerry wins a championship he's got to spend all that extra money on the rings The League only subsidizes $7,000 a ring Jerry's going to have to spend the extra $40,000 on each one can go as high as 5 million to buy rings for the whole team.

The Super bowl trophy Jerry gets his only worth 50,000 so in his mind and Stevens they're probably taking a huge loss and don't want to be involved LOL
that extra 40,000 is like pennies to them, but when you look at the big picture, it could set this franchise back several years!!!!! :muttley: :muttley: :muttley: :muttley: :muttley: :muttley: :muttley:

More fan myth.
All players form all sports are about the money.
It is not just here.
more fan myth that we're not worried about other teams players we are focused on our guys!! Cowboys blog not everyone in the NFL blog :omg:

It’s wild how much talent and knowledge exists here—people with NFL front office insight, team-building skills, coaching experience, and player evaluation expertise. With all that collective brainpower, it’s crazy no one has started a ******** to buy a team and put all this advice into action, instead of just being online GMs whose ideas go unheard.

Or maybe you believe that old theory that Jerry has secret agents lurking here, reading fan ideas and making changes based on them.

Just think about all the suggestions for Jerry, the front office, Will McClay, and the coaches—everything from schemes to player cuts and additions. The answers seem to be right here; if packaged and sold, you could be outside consultants to struggling NFL teams.

You’d rake in billions, buy your own franchise, and win Super Bowls year after year. It’s all right in front of us, and those talents are going to waste unless something’s done about it.
