Player Update: Roy Williams, WR

Roy Williams and Tony Romo apparently did not "wow" as a duo in OTAs, according to ESPN.

Our View: Despite all the drama, Romo and T.O. were quite a potent QB/WR duo, and the Cowboys really need him to develop the same chemistry with Williams if they want to challenge for a division title in the crowded NFC East this season. Expect them to get more on the same page in training camp.

Not worried.

They put together a poor TC and then I'll start worrying.

That's it. I'm switching to the Commanders now.

Seriously? Someone took the time to type that?

By the way, I wouldn't root for the Commanders if my son played for them.

The main thing Romo needs to learn about Roy that he did not have with TO...Even if Roy isnt open you can still throw him the ball.

TO was not like that. I'm sure we'll see some hiccups early on, but they'll be fine.

Whatever some might say, I saw enough to know that the guy has skills. Excellent hands, able to go up for the ball - skills that TO didn't have. As soon as Tony learns what RW's strengths are, they'll be fine. I'm not worried. He won't get the numbers TO did, but we don't need him to. He just has to be a viable option, along with Witten, Bennett, Crayton, Austin, Jones, Barber, etc etc...

When the likes of Brad Johnson can get the ball to you (TD against Tampa), you obviously have the ability to go get the ball. Romo should have fun with the goal line jump ball tosses to Roy and Marty B.

Oh please! Everybody will just put their spin on it. "Its just training camp, wait until the games count". I heard it all before.

If Chris Simms could get Roy Williams the ball i'm confident Tony Romo can.

RotoTimes.com has been suffering from its inability to report on real football news, so it has resorted to reporting on non-news issues such as Tony Romo's and Roy Williams' poor performance during OTAs.

My View: Despite their best effort, RotoTimes.com will continue to suck it up just like many other sports media outlets. Why? Because they've never been able to grasp the very basic journalistic techniques that require some firm sources with adequate support.

If you only knew!:D

Many of Simms's problems stemmed from his over-reliance on Roy Williams. Simms locked on to Roy Williams regardless of coverage and despite having the most talented collection of receivers ever assembled at the University of Texas.
