As we enter the "Sargasso Sea" leg of our journey to draft day, something to fill your time and expose my thoughts on this years draft talent.

Grady Jarrett we(the boys) will regret if this one get away, killed Tre' Jackson Florida St. A starter in the NFL
Owamagbe Odighizuwa DE see above wow if his hip has healed a real talent at DE.
Darius Philon 3 tech with some real talent, needs coaching but great toolbox.
Marcus Hardison another 3 tech under the radar lots of the dedicated zoners here know of him.
Lorenzo Mauldin worth a look he has some true grit and the polishing is starting to show thru
Philip Dorsett WR mesmerizing with his quickness and speed
Paul Dawson off field issues we know, still rank him with Kendricks, he will sting you on the field and does not wait for the tackle to come to him.
Senquez Golson CB gifted player and 1st rd if 3 " taller.
Markus Golden kamikaze type player will give it all with speed, power, and toughness
Stefon Diggs WR has the "it" factor, small in stature, natural gifts player who has yet to focus on the details.
David Johnson his talent is discounted in this target rich environment of RB's
Mike Hull going to blow up for the team lucky enough to tag him. A real players player fro Penn St
Quentin Rollins high ceiling FS after just one year of position play 2nd best after Rowe
Tyler Lockett next great slot receiver with NFL potential he has killed OU/DB's for the last three years.

Just asking, you watch video of these guys? Otherwise, where are you getting your info. If the media isn't all over these guys (and they aren't), why are you? I am truly curious, not doubting what you say...I personally like OO and Dorsett a lot amongst your list and now I will go and check these others out...thanx.

Would love to hear other zoners pet cats if they are willing to come out of the closet.

This was mostly me being bored and nothing new coming out about any of the draft prospects. These guys have all come up on fan sites with glowing recommendations. Much like we know so much more about the TCU/Baylor/Tex/OU guys than others around the country.

I watch other NFL fan sites(eagles/bills/packers/ravens do the draft so much better than the boys website) and lot of college games back in the fall, once someone hit my radar, I start digging, I am just a normal guy, but I love data and believe in the wisdom of crowds. After a while guys stick out like a sore thumb. Olineman are a very difficult bunch for me, and I liked Danny Coale WR immensely so temper your judgement. It is also known to some I had a love affair a couple of years ago with the center from Alabama who was drafted by the Rams Barrett Jones (LisFranc injury). He is two years later a backup. My big claim to fame was Gavin Escobar when I was watching Ziggy Ansah this guy looked like a man amongst boys and I had never heard of him. I usually get one guy out of the whole draft correct over the last ten years.

I agree with the OP and nearly all on the list. Every year there's a stack of players that fly under the radar, a lot of times posters here point them out. The only player I don't like on this list is OO, just don't see the disruption when I watched his games. Def agree on about all the rest. Lockett remind me of Cecil shorts in that he was also largely overlooked in the draft but turned into a gem. He was too small and "the experts" overlooked his ridiculous college production. I think Diggs catches his niche as a returner burner. LOVE Hardison, Jarrett, Golson, and Dawson.

Darius Philon is probably the most underrated on this list. The draft media tends to underrate underclassmen and Philon is a redshirt Sophomore. He looks terrific to me especially when he gets single blocking.

I really like Hardison. He is ranked #95 which seems about right considering the question of him being a 1 year wonder, a Juco transfer and playing DE but projecting to DT in the NFL.

I agree that OO seems underrated by the media. The scheme he played in limited him.

I like Mauldin. The draft media downgraded him because of his forty time at the combine.

Dawson could be a value pick at some point. He has to be downgraded because of the risk involved. He already had character/work-ethic concerns and then didn't appear to be prepared at the combine.

I tend to think that David Johnson might be overrated. I just don't see it with him. He is a really good receiver but his running just does not overly impress me.

CBS has Rollins ranked #55. I can't see him being ranking higher than that considering that he played 1 year and went to Miami (Ohio) and played CB but projects to Safety.

Grady Jarrett is ranked #85. That's a good value for a team with the right scheme like the Cowboys but he is probably downgraded because he is not a fit for many teams. He not a 2 gap type 1tech or 0tech. I the Cowboys have a similar player on the roster (Ken Bishop).

Mike Hull is ranked #137 which seems about right to me. He has some stiffness that limits him. He missed quite a few tackles because he seems to lack the flexibility to reach back when he is not in perfect position. He is size limited at under 6'. He did a good job avoiding blockers in college but in the NFL he will have to shed blockers and I'm not sure that he will be good at doing that.

Markus Golden is ranked #151. I could see him go a little earlier but he appears limited. He has a good 1st step but is not overly flexible and uses more of a stutter step type rushing style than a bend the corner style. He is very length limited at 6-2 with short arms.

Showing your love for the 3 tech with Philon and Hardison I agree with you on both, I kept thinking Chris in AZ would comment on him.
TM119 brought up Bobby Richardson same vein as these guys

Dawson is a bad boy off the field, is he marketable for us, that will be his big issue.

Mauldin can and would make this team better.

David Johnson can play, he is on that vast field of second tier players after Gurley/Gordon

I hate comparisons but with Grady Barrett, great skill toolbox, aggressive and gives full motor participation much like someone who plays for the Bengals watching him in that Fla ST game is an eye opener. I thought you would like him, if you see these same strengths in Bishop we are in for a treat this season. IMO Grady Barrett has all the boxes checked for a Cowboy Dlineman.

I agree if Hull was bigger, it seems like we have a lot of diminutive talent this year. I wanted not to like him but he is a talent. LB from Penn St

Markus Golden full tilt all day all the time and tough, stiff and straight line are adjectives associated with his talent. I get tired just watching him as he outworks whoever is in front of him. Opponents get no rest with him on the field, to me that is the talent that cannot be taught, hand placement, footwork all that falls on Rod M shoulders. He is a prospect for sure and not a finished product.

I thought I read somewhere that some NFL scouts said that Darius Philon was the worst interview they've ever seen at the combine? I'm not sure where I read it but I'll try to dig it up.

Have you heard anything about that?

OK, I found it. They didn't say he was the worst at any combine... but they did say he was the worst at this combine... which still says a lot about him. Matt Miller is reporting that 3 teams told him that.

"— Combine interviews may be the most important part of the event for players, and three teams I spoke with have since told me that Arkansas redshirt sophomore Darius Philon was the worst interview of the process for them. He reportedly came off as immature, uninterested and even combative."

Tavaris Barnes
Bobby Richardson are my big 4 wants
I think Steven Nelson would be a huge steal in the 3rd

One guy I think should get more love is Quinton Spain, OT/OG from West Virginia

Interesting. I don't know anything about him other than watching his game footage (look at the footage for Flowers to see him).

Read that as well.

I want Hardison out of this list. Pretty bad.

Long time passenger on the Stephon Diggs wagon. Natural hands, plus speed, RKG and good enough size to play slot or outside. Just never had good QB play at Maryland and a bit frail, so never learned to be a WR. Mostly drafting an athlete at this point.

Also on the Bobby Richardson wagon.

Carl Davis, DT, Iowa - I think the effort questions are way overblown. Cannot comprehend how Jordan Phillips might be ranked ahead of him.
Josh Shaw, DB, USC - View him as the best FS prospect in the draft
Denzel Perryman, MLB, Miami - Don't care what he ran in the 40. He'll get drafted by a smart team and start at MLB for 10 years.
Tre McBride, WR, William & Mary
Josue Matias, G, Florida St - Maybe not for ZBS
Kenny Bell, WR, Nebraska
Ray Drew, DE/DT, Georgia - Reminds me of Jimmy Jones from the 90s teams or Mincey
Kaleb Eulls, DT, Miss St
Martrell Spaight, LB, Arkansas
Bobby McCain, CB, Memphis - Limited to the slot, but I think he's going to be excellent in that role. Like a great defensive point guard.
Brian Mihalik, DE, Boston College - Probably more of a 5-tech but surprising athlete in 6-9 body
