Players Not Coming Back

Here's my list of players no longer needed. I'm not including players added in last few weeks just because of a need at vulnerable positions like LB, FS, etc.

Defense:
1. DE Marco Coleman
2. LaRoi Glover is good DE in 4-3 but doesn't have enough size in 3-4 & presume we sticking with it. Sorry to see him go cause he was a really good player but cap hit too much for part time player.
3. LB Eric Obgobu
4. Singleton - must get a better starting OLB
5. Greg Ellis - still hope to keep him but appears doubtful
6. Sundry backups at LB; Fowler might have future but doubt Shanle does.
7. Dat Nguyen - listing him only because I think he will retire

Offense:
1. Tucker
2. Gurode
3. Not sure about Campbell but Vela said 04 foot injury slowed him down a step down???
4. Keyshawn - love Key's passion for the game & willingness help anywhere. Would keep him if he willing become 4th WR behind a new quanlity WR opposite Glenn & Crayton & not demand lot of money
5. Polite

If there won't cap implications:
1. I'd add Riveria to this list. I disagree with some people re Ferguson; think he did his job which prevented opponents from running up our middle most of the season.

Marco Coleman??? Why should we care about a Bronco's DE?

I'm assuming you mean Kenyon Coleman.

A couple I disagree with:

Keyshawn: He's not going anywhere. He had a good season, and he's one of the top "Parcells Guys" anywhere. I don't WANT him gone, either.

Gurode: I don't think he's gone either. He can be a backup center or guard effectively. Honestly, I think we're better off with him than Rivera, and he's cheaper.

Shanle: I think Parcells likes him, and you always need backup LBs when you're running the 3-4.

I think everyone else on your list is a possibility. I'd add Suisham, though. He won't be kicking for the Cowboys next season.

I think you will be surprised to see several of those pple on that list back next year, including your starting WR Keyshawn Johnson. Ellis and Glover probably will be back, unless a nice trade can be owrked out.

Dont give away your depth. Just cause there not key players dont make them expendable. Imagine if we had a quality back up at LT this year, this year coulda been so damn different. Depth is golden and Depth is KEY

Keyshawn will and needs to stay. He is still a good football player, and he is a factor when he is on the field.

Singleton is a guy we really need. After his injury our run defense went down the drain, and teams just lit us up.

Glover and Obgobu can be very good backups and spot duty. And if want to sign cap friendly deals i say keep them.

Tucker and gurode need to stay, these guys have been here and have improved from their 2002 and 03 selves. If they cna continue to improve can be very good backups, and need be starters.

Everybody else i agree with

Nate Jones is a solid 5th corner and good special teams player. Sure, they may find someone better, but there is not gurantee he is gone. He will be back in camp battling for a position. I don't know Gurode's contract status. I would think he at least makes it to camp next year. He is a servicable back up to two positions.

Gurode wont be gone, the guy isnt the best, but he sure as hell is on his way, just wait and see, Gurode is special.

Gurode isnt going anywhere
No way Keys going anywhere

Key, Gurode stay

We trade ellis for an OL, since he wants out

Exactly, who would take Key, and who would Key play for?

i agree with those that said we should keep Tucker and Gurode. They are our only OL depth right now. Tucker should be a G but he's at least a fairly competent T. With Flo back, Tucker can back up either side and as long as both T's aren't sucking, we can help him out and be fine.
Behind Gurode were most of the holes and cutback lanes that allowed JJ to go for 195 against what many thought was the best DL in football prior to the start of the season. We should resign Gurode, he shouldn't command a big salary anyway. When he doesn't make mental mistakes, he's a much better run blocker than Rivera. From watching him and listening to BP talk about him, Gurode seems to be making fewer mental mistakes than in the past and those mental mistakes were the only thing keeping him from shining. Guy is a bulldozer and gives us solid depth on the OL, which is a thing I don't think we'll overlook again.
I think we may look to swap Ellis (and maybe Glover) for Abraham. I think Abraham would be a nice addition and we know BP loves him.
Ogobu is gone as is Suisham but I'm not completely ready to cut ties with Coleman unless Ratliff and Pepper J shine in camp. Coleman is at least depth. I'm not sure what his contract status is but unless he's a UFA, I say hang on a little longer.
I think Shanle stays also.
I think Key stays also. If we sign TO...who knows though..

the only way kj leaves is if we sign t.o.
gurode will be back. nice swing guy
tucker won't be back. bill likes him but i suspect we will sign a f.a. and draft an ot
as for the others, they will be replaced when and if we get better guys to replace them with
you don't just gut your team till you know who ya gonna replace them with
time will tell but it's a tad premature to start the cutting till ya know whats gonna be availible to you

ellis in a trade. i'd hate to see him leave. very solid and dependable. but if it means landing a quality OL then sure.

i can see us parting ways with Larry Allen. time to hang 'em up.
dat nguyen will prolly retire.
glover is iffy. is ellis is gone i think we retain glover. i don't see how we can get rid of both of them. we don't have any depth.
other than that the rest of the losses will be marginal players lile colombo and peterman.

KJ stays even if we sign TO. Crayton is not better than KJ, not even close. He is a good 3 or 4, that is it. WE can have 4 solid recievers next year. I think pile will be here also. Not to many options at safety.
