Dallas can clinch a playoff berth with:

a win and Minnesota loss or tie and New Orleans win or tie OR
a win and Minnesota loss or tie and Carolina loss or tie

It is not that difficult, by beating the Falcons, the Vikings losing to the Jets (must win for the Jets) and either the Saints beating the Commanders or the Panthers losing to the Steelers, it can be done.

I was hoping a home win over the Saints would be our last real challenging game until the playoffs where we'd be the #2 seed.

After the shocking blowout loss however Atlanta looks to be as big a game as we'ved played all year. A road win likely restores the shaken confidence & sets the stage to all but wrap up the NFC East next week vs Philly and reassert ourselves as legit contenders in the NFC.

But a loss would be devestating. We might still find a way into the playoffs but I don't know how you lose late season games to the Saints & Falcons and then expect to make serious playoff noise.

Frankly, I have already, like most of you I suspect, significantly lowered my expectations. I still mostly think we will win the division, host and win a playoff game. But I can't say I expect to go further than that. I think we've demonstrated the potential to do so but also demonstrated Sunday night the potential to really play down to a very low level.

What a roller coaster. Hope we can get it straightened out.

Im not quite sure what to make of this team at this point, but the past 6 weeks have been fun. I honestly think the Atlanta game Saturday could be pivotal for the Cowboys; they just absolutely have to show up and play at a high level. If they drop the game in Atlanta, doubts will quickly spread as to whether this is truly a playoff calibre team. Im optimistic that they take care of business vs. the Falcons.
