Anyone but this 60 year old retread clown. Would some of you actually prefer this guy to say Stoops, Miles or Norv Turner?

My list would be:
1. Rivera
2. Rex Ryan
3. Phillips
4. Turner

1,000,000: Bob Stoops

Actually I think Phillips is one of the safer choices. In safer, I mean, that if it did not work out in a year or two you could go in a different direction without too much turmoil. I think he would keep the current Off. coaches and Romo would stay comfortable with the system.

Stoops and Miles are very risky and possibly longer term projects IMO.

Yes to all 3.

Not that I want Wade, but I want a defensive HC and I don't want a college coach, and Phillips has at least won more than Norv.

Phillips has NFL experience and runs a nasty 3-4, he is a thousand times more qualified than Stoops.

Thats the thing, if you believe that we are a better defense and a bit of Offensive tweaking away, you would be rather crazy to bring in Stoops or Miles.

Thats exactly my mindset. The offense was pretty damn good last year and it doesnt need a whole lot of changing, we are a great defensive minded coach away from dominance and thats what Phillips would bring.

Guys, I don't think we're all that close. I think a new approach is in order. In the NFL you can change in a hurry. I don't want a "safe" pick. I'd rather take a chance and be bold, not 8-8.

A HOF coach just spent 4 years trying to change us. BTW we are much much closer than you think.

We were 8-4 with a good defensive run from being 11-5 and NFC East Champs and Home field in the playoffs.

Defensive meltdown changed all that. We are close and I don't want to see the cellar again!

Right now, my top 2 choices are

1. Rex Ryan
2. W. Phillips

I, too, prefer our next HC to be more defensively-oriented.

W. Phillips is definitely the "safer" option, IMO. He can probably fix the defense, work with JJ, and we could possibly keep our OC/coaches.

On the other hand, Ryan is more of an unknown commodity. But, he's much younger and can possibly coach for the longer term. Also, he should be able to fix our defense.

I don't think we need a total rebuilding job. We need to fix the defense and hire an OC who has success working with young QBs. Even if we stick with our current offensive coaches, I wouldn't be that upset.

I say you're wrong. I'm just as happy to rebuild, go 5-11 rather than 9-7 or 8-8. Either you're a contender or you're not. I don't see Wade Phillips acheiving much. C'mon, Wade Phillips?????????

I can't even begin to fathom the reasoning that you would want to start rebuilding the team all over *again* after all these years just to get your favorite college coach on the team.

I'd have to agre with you on this. Wade has had opportunities and he just didn't get it done. No reason to believe that he can do much better here. Let's pass and follow the youth trend.

What gives, are you a Cowboys fan or a Stoops fan

Where have you been?

I think that is my order too, but I have really heard nothing from Ryan...

but Rivera, from what I have read from his current players, and others sounds very impressive!
