I don't know. Payton's guys - Drew, JJ, Barber, Witten, Key, and Glenn -- all had good seasons this year. What would they have been able to accomplish with a better line?

A for the love of God Jerry, bring back the man who's offense won us 2 SBs!!!!! :)
You do realize that it took BP 2 years working with Payton before he'd let him call plays and you expect him to just hand playcalling over to someone he's just starting out with. Come on now BP will be calling all the plays next year if Payton leaves. IS that what you want?

I'd rather see BP calling plays, anything is better than 3-runs-up-the-middle-BS that Payton called so often on the goal line.

And no way BP will be willing to work with a former HC that he doesn't know, and who's Offense hasn't got him a winning season in forever.....

I dont know man.

Norv Turner has had some pretty good weapons on offense over there and the Raiders certainly havent set the world on fire on offense...

To play Devil's Advocate...

Some would say that is one of the problems with Big Bill

Sorry Hitta, couldn't resist.

Norv's passing offense might be a good fit for a QB like Bledsoe. It could be interesting....

I say the same thing about Dom Capers in regards to the Texans and their craptacular defense, but people seem to have a blue vein throbber for the guy as our DC. Maybe the only way Norv and Dom can succeed is taking the coordinator role and living with it.

True but when you look that the Raiders WR and the style Turner uses I don't think that was the best fit for the players or Turner. Porter and Moss are both speed guys but not the best rout runners which is important in the timing based offense.

I don't disagree all I'm saying it took him this long to let SP call the plays the choice is BP calling the plays or have Sean back. Me I'd rather have Sean calling the plays now of course BP prob micro managed him but hey our O when healthy was pretty good IMO....

Some guys just aren't cut out to be head coaches.

However, you would think that their area of expertise would be an area of strength on a team. In many cases, that is what they are brought in to do.

Capers and Turner have certainly had success in the past.

Yeah, Im sorry but the Cowboys just had lightining in a Bottle in the 90s with trades and just EXTREMELY good players....Hall of Fame type players....

I dont see Emmitt, Troy, Novacek, the OL and Mikey Mike on the roster...not saying he cant do it, but I dont know...

ONe thing positive for him is he will run the ball, and Parcells would like that.

But I agree with JK, no way he lands on the roster because Big Bill doesnt know him.

not sure why everyone wants to run Payton off...I don't. I serioulsy doubt Norv would have fared any better with the injuries/issues we had on the OLine this year. If anything, it's a miracle that our QB played the entire season.

Funny how fans want him gone cause he sux and can't run an offense, but NFL GM's are giving him serious consideration for their HC gig.

You can't lay the offensive woes solely on Payton. BP takes a big share of it since we went into the season so thin at OL. Also, I'm still not convinced that Payton is really calling all of the offensive plays.
