It's a shame how Jerry's on the verge of sending us back to the 5-11 years so soon after BP got us back to the playoffs.

I used to be huge defender of Jerry the GM, somewhat. Except of his Coaching choices that is. But yeah, its time Jerry stepped down as GM.

But Jerry has said he will never step down as GM as long as he owns the team. Only way thats going to happen is, maybe Stephen does a takeover Coup. :D

Jerry's excuse was he tried it with Parcells and now he's going to do it his way again.

The problem is he didn't realize how fast things unravel when he takes control of the team and puts a puppet HC in place.

The HC MUST be the unquestioned leader of the football team! It will never work when that is not in place.

He's a great owner and wouldn't trade him for no other owner... But he has giving away some big contracts and to me the players are not hungry and looks to be satisfied with there contracts.....

Agree to a certain extent.

That and he is the one who puts most of the hype and expectations on this team. He puts the pressure on the players and coaches to perform, and they're folding worse than the Buffalo Bills in the Super Bowl.

I never want to hear again "There's no risk involved" in bringing in a player like PacMan. There are risks involved in bringing in bad lockerroom guys that go beyond salary cap impact or draft picks surrendered, and we just saw them surface this week.

Let's follow the late 90's ...

Jerry brings in passive head coach who lets Jerry make most of the personnel moves and assistant coaching hires.

Jerry gets seduced by the forbidden fruit and brings in headcases, wingnuts and loudmouths galore.

Team discipline and character evaporates, as it becomes increasingly obvious that inmates run the asylum knowing they have more clout in the organization than the head coach. Even strong leaders who demand perfection like Troy Aikman and Darren Woodson are helpless to stop it.

Those that don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. And now we're finding our newest HC scapegoat to blame everything on and we'll give Jerry a free pass ... just like we always done for the last 12 years.

If I gave someone a 50Mil contract, I would expect them to exceed their play from the previous year.

A look at a couple players who got contracts...

Hamlin, heard his name about 5 times all year, last year heard his name dang near every play.

Newman, Hurt............

Hotel, fat contract, knows that was his last big contract, so what the heck.....

All I'm saying is that this team need to play with pride and attitude and most of all HEART

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Pacman won't be back this season. You're going to have to find more excuses than that.

Big contracts are a part of every NFL team. Today is on the coaching staff far more than JJ.

Blame Jerry? Gee, what a novel idea. Too bad he'll never pay the piper. It's good to be the king.

That's what scared me about signing Flo, Owens, Newman, Barber, Hamlin, etc, it shows lack of faith in our personel department and gives too many players too much security plus you're really risking getting trapped by their large contracts to players that are getting way too old (aside from Barber and maybe Hamlin)

How many times does Jones have to be humbled before he realizes good coaching does matter and that this isn't fantasy football.

I fear he's too old to change. Jerry's great in many ways, but a good GM makes tough decisions and sometimes that means letting players go sooner than you may want to.

I've always thought Romo's change in attutude this year was a reflection of what he saw in his team. I think he knew the culture had changed and the team was not doing the things that made them successful in the past.

The bad thing is that we are stuck with most of our players because of their huge contracts and signing bonuses, we're damned if we cut them and apparently damned if we don't.

Between this and the market crash, I constantly feel as if I am about to puke.

Buy stock in Pepto Bismol!

I watched this game to the last second and will continue to do so with every game they play until the day I die (as I have every year ), so don't start the bandwagon fan crap. I'll never stop loving and rooting for this team no matter how disheartening they are to watch.

Jerry has proven once again he at the very least needs a very strong head coach to help guide his decisions at GM. I think he is just better off with some objective eyes around letting him know what players are worth.

Bad contracts this offseason:

Hamlin - should have let him play out his franchise tag while looking for another option

Barber - we should have given him a year to see if he could perform is a feature premium RB before giving him a contract commensurate to one. He has proven he is only a complimentary back thus far. He has been overused and exposed.

Flo - This is exactly the type of older vet you don't want to give a big contract to - work ethic is gone.

TNew - coming off a year of questionable health, we should have let him play out the year to see how his health held up.

TO - no need to extend an ageing WR that noone else wanted. We could have signed him half-way through the year if he was showing no signs of deterioration.

Good contracts this offseason:

Ratliff - he is outplaying his contract and will probably need a re-do before too long. He is still better off at DE than NT and hopefully we will find one for him.

The other area Jones needs help in is understanding how to build a winner. As soon as BP is gone, he gives up a first for an underachieving WR who we could have signed in the offseason without having to give up a pick. Those picks could have been used at areas of team weakness like OL depth, NT and LB.

Jerry has shown once again that he doesn't belong in the GM's seat and this team has returned to mediocrity again with no signs of anyway to get out of it with all these bloated contracts and swollen egos that he has amassed.

Honestly, you are right on the money here. No way Jerry gives up his Sandbox. So the BEST hope for us fans is for Jerry to just coach the damn team. Pathetic as it sounds it might instill some sort of fear in our players. Otherwise, this franchise is just spinning its' wheels.

Best post I have read this whole season.

If you think having Owens, jones and tank johnson as the voices of this team is a good thing, well you get this.

The biggest fear I have now is him doing something even more outrageous.

i just read that jj said this, about romo not playing:

“He ended up making that decision for us, actually, and that’s the way it should have been,” Jones said. “He just felt like he couldn’t help us.”

***? jj was the one saying that romo was likely gonna play and theres no more further risk of the injury bec of the cast. now he's sort of blaming romo for sitting down instead.

they should have nver entertaind the idea of romo playing in the first place. should have made bollinger the 2nd qb and there's none of this "should romo have played or not?" **** blame going around.

Big contracts to Hamlin, Adams, Barber, Newman this offseason.

Only Barber has been worth it thus far.
