I understand that every fan has an opinion, but this is just getting ridiculous. We have a 3-2 record and could very well be in the drivers seat in the NFC Beast after the next 3 weeks.....And of all the things to derive promise or hope from, more than half of the fan base is waiting for Bledsoe to get the hook, so we can mortgage the season with a virtual unkown in Tony Romo? Yes the same guy that nobody cared about when the other 'savior' Drew Henson was on the roster. I'm sick and tired about hearing about how 'mobile' Romo is...big deal so without any blocking up front either he can buy an extra second to still get sacked or make a game killing play?
Some of you 'fans' are so Naive and gullible. It makes me laugh to know that if Tony Romo didn't have such extensive playing time in the pre season than there wouldn't even be an argument going on right now. But everyone saw him do these "amazing" things against no pass rush, vanilla defenses, and scrubs that are now pumping gas and flipping burgers and this becomes enough to crown him our savior. Ironically this is basically from the same group of fans that rode Henson's Jock straight to the unemployment line. Newsflash: Remember Danny Wuerfel, his numbers were astronomical and he was a bigger preseason legend than Romo....where is he now I ask?
Why does it seem that cowboy fans are so out of touch with the reality of the NFL. There are some very intelligent fans on this board but its pathetic to see a once-proud cowboy nation get excited in thier pants everytime this team acquires a quarterback via trade or draft. From guys like Anthony Wright Clint Stoernor and Chad Hutchinson to the era of Drew Henson Tony Romo and Jeff Mroz, u almost always see a post with some "hopeful" cowboy fan talking about how special these guys can be, and comparing em to the likes of Kurt Warner Jake Delhomme and Trent Green, trying to convince themselves that the common every day undrafted free agent has what it takes to be the next "guy outta nowhere"....anything to get rid of 'the most overrated QB of all time' despite his gaudy resume and HOF numbers.
Just before pre season there was talk about how great the boys would be this year, and how Well Bledsoe Will play. Some of you guys predicted 30+ TDs, others said 3,800 yards, and now after 2 poor outtings against pass rushes that our O line simply couldn't block ( i'm no rocket scientist, but maybe that was the reason he got sacked) you guys are ready to send him to the pine because unlike last season, you've watched the back up QB play.
So to all you cowboys fans that are blowing this entire situation out of proportion, and are being too stubborn or too lazy to realize that the issues with this team lie far beyond the Quarterback position, i say to you legions of mindless cowboys fans OH WELL. IF BP wants to make a change he will, and if he doesn't want to then u guys gotta deal with it and stop wasting your time posting in "bench bledsoe" threads. Parcells is one of the greatest coaching minds in any professional sport and if he thought Tony Romo could walk on water than believe Bledsoe would be history by now. Please realize how greatful we are to have a capable veteran like Bledsoe and just let the Romo hype die....next year I'm all for an 'open' competition in camp and seeing who emerges as the better man, but 2006 is Bledsoe's show.
