Can't put a number to it, but I don't think they'll give up any more sacks than they would have anyway. Parcells will work protections and help out Tucker.

It's not the sacks I'm worried about...it's those damn penalties he's known for. Them zebras are liable to throw a flag as soon as they see him step on the field.

we have given up 13 sacks in 6 games.......so i am saying we give up
2...about average this week. i am also looking for a big game out of
our offense running and passing. this is the kind of game players have
to step up and win. hopefully our offense knows they owe our defense
a good game after last weeks effort.

I voted for 1, but I think 2. Ordinarily, I would have voted "oh lord," but BP's faith in this kid has influenced me. I'm willing to give BP the benefit of the doubt, and if he trusts TT enough to let him protect Drew's blindside, then who am I to doubt?

13 sacks given up

4 v Chargers

0 v Commanders

2 v 49ers

4 v Raiders

0 v Eagles

3 vGiants

with JJ out & 2 "still learning tackles" I say 4 or 5. I would be happy with 3.

I think Tucker will give one up to Wistrom due to his "veteran savvy". But I don't think he will give up any to moves or ability. I also don't expect more than one or two penalty.

He'll make his share of goofs like the rest of them, but as long as we don't see any of those third and fifties in the regular season...

3.
But whether they will be Tuckers fault is another story.
If he can keep from getting penalties that would put him a couple up on Flo.
I would trade one sack for 2 penalties.

You forgot a number, the number 0, we will not give up any sacks this game. Drew will barely be pressured.

Remember, Wistrom is hurting and that is who Tucker will be facing most of the day. That should give him an edge to at least let him hold his own...I hope. If Tucker does as well on the left as he did on the right Bledsoe should be ok. Last year Vinny had pretty good protection from Tucker most of the time.

As for the penalties which along with run blocking is what really got Tucker in trouble last year; I doubt he will be much worse than Flo in that regard. You could count on Flo for 2 offsides and a holding call just about every game it seemed.

Where we will suffer will be in the running game. Tucker and Gurode could not open a hole on the right to save their lives last year. We can only hope that being next to LA instead of Gurode will make the difference and we will be able to run to the left.

BTW I say 2 sacks and they may not be Tuckers fault.

i said four and i'll stick by that, but they won't be the big drive-killing sacks - more like the type where Drew will pull the ball down and lurch forward for a loss of only 2 yards or so. he'll likely be takig a lot of 3 step drops and quick hitters to defeat that pass rush. i saw the Colts eat up the Rams using dump screen passes, and i think we'll see more than usual of those type plays.

I say three, which is not bad.

If Seattle does get to Bledsoe, it won't come from their front four. They will have to blitz their two rookies, Tatupu and Hill to get good pressure.
