If Jerry Jones were to hire another head coach, for example, Mike Shanahan, do you believe that Wade Phillips would accept a demotion to become the team's defensive coordinator if he were offered the position?

I've said the exact same thing. However, it keeps surprising me that some folks believe that he will take a demotion because of loyalty, money, etc. I'm just curious how viable people believe this to be possibly true.

I don't like his attitude either, but he's never demonstrated that kind of desperation during his coaching career in my opinion. It's just not the norm for any head coach.

Firing coaches, assistant or otherwise, has always been a normal practice in the NFL regardless of whether the owner or general manager has publicly stated differently.

I hope that's the case regardless of who the next head coach will be. It'll always be my personal belief that the best working relationships within a coaching staff will be those created via hires by the head coach himself.

I think he would do it.
Its only the societal rankings and pressure that make a decision like that a bad thing.

His strength is defense... he had a shot to win as HC = didnt work out. Now go back to your strength and be a major part of our future success.
