It’s not clear to me what the long term strategy or plan this front office is following to improve this roster. So I thought I would ask the fan base.

I occasionally hear the “soft rebuild” term thrown around, which can mean different things to different people. Others may say we are in a complete 1989 style rebuild where the roster will need to be harshly churned. While to some this front office either doesn’t have a discernible plan outside of marketing their team or is just winging it.

What say you? What’s the plan around here?
30 years and its not clear?

really?

How about, keep the status quo until Cowboy fans figure it out.

I think the plan is marketing. It's his forte. Offense is more marketable than defense, thus that's where most of the resources go. He'll sign Pickens long-term and at least one of those 1st rounders will be offense.

Yall have to eliminate rebuild from your football vocabularies.

Jerry will never rebuild if he has a franchise quarterback in particular. He believes in his heart we are hanging by the rim.

The plan is no plan. I see no long term vision on defense. No leader. No identity, no one to build around and nothing they do particularly well.

They will draft the "highest graded" defenders and hire a coordinator who may very well go directly against what those defenders do well. Zero plan or vision.

There is no plan. Look at the head coach. Nobody wanted that guy. A career backbencher. How can you hire that clown and have a plan?

The plan is to continue being on television every week.
BS the gullible fans who want to believe that their team will somehow return to the Super bowl.

Most of all the plan is to continue being the most valuable franchise in sports creating generational wealth for its owner and offspring.
All true plans are to continue in this vein

54% in agreement. Not only is this a ringing indictment, it's downright depressing because we know we're right and the others are delusional if they think otherwise
Well you and the other 54% or whatever, would be totally wrong. Of course they have a plan. It’s just not working. I mean DUH.

I’m on team “no plan”, but I almost selected “full speed ahead”, because we could end up 2-14-1 and Jerry would still believe we could win the Super Bowl next year.

We could give away all four first round picks for Saquon Barkley in a trade and Dak could suddenly retire, and he’d go into next year telling us that Saquon and Milton can take us to a title.

As much as I am enjoying GP and as happy I am to see him on the team, the more frustrated I am with the fact that it could end up being a wasted pick.

Unless we get back a compensatory third, I think that’s what it ends up being.

It’s not that he isn’t *worth* a third, because he’s worth much more. It’s the fact that this team is going nowhere and he could set single season records for us and it would be a waste, as would signing him long term.

That’s how discouraged I am with the front office. I have zero faith that they won’t waste the careers of every player they draft or develop, every player they trade for and every player they sign in free agency.

Regime change can’t come soon enough.

While I think he has no plan to win, Jerry absolutely has a plan: Marketing. It's all about the money.
I struggle with this idea every time it’s posted because a successful team would be incredibly profitable. There’s no profit in being average or bad

Does Jerry even remember (on a daily basis) that he owns the Dallas Cowboys let alone have any kind of plan.

The strategy is to copy the current successful strategy in the NFL.

Of course, that strategy will be obsolete by the time the Cowboys are prepared to implement it.

What is the plan then? Trade Micah to give us 4 picks in the next 2 drafts in Rd 1 and 2? Then Jerry says we will use our resources if needed to provide us with a shot this year? In your opinion, what is the plan, because for the life of me and many many others, we don't really know. According to ownership, the pieces in terms of coaching and players are currently here...

Send a 5th to the Saints for Demario Davis (LB) and if the big O can stay healthy when back, then you have a nice duo at LB. At 1-5 the Saints not going anywhere.

Not starting the rebuild after the GB playoff loss was a mistake, shoulda blew it up then
