Ask them not me.
Let me add that the title of this thread was about the "future". Can you objectively sit on your couch and type a response as to if you think there is a plan? This discussion is NOT bout the current season and if we as fans have given up on it, but is a poll about if we see a future. You're keeping up hope for '25 is fine, but it's not what this discussion is about

I’m not Karnak and cannot see into the future or read the minds of Jerry and Stephen. Like I said, they have a plan but it’s obviously not working. I’m sure their plan evolves over time because the salary cap changes every year, injuries happen, etc., etc., etc.

Dak has a no trade clause but if you gut the team you can convince him to seek a championship with a good qb-starved team.
Since he was drafted, Dak Prescott has never given any suggestion he would leave Dallas for any reason as long as Jerry Jones paid him. As long as that condition is met, I highly doubt Prescott would jettison himself in favor of a more talented team, no matter how talented or non-talented his teammates might be here.

Being serious, their plan as of now appears to be is to bring in players they had high draft grades on but are now busting, and hoping they can turn them around, thinking they will somehow play cheap, which they will not once they get things turned around. Wont work. Same as signing a free agent, which we know they don’t do.

1. Need a top QB. See below on Prescott.
/2.Need a HC with schemes that are in line with todays league.
3. Need at least 3 of 4 drafts to be excellent.
4. Need to fill in what youre still missing with free agents…some higher end, some vets toward the end who are role players and mentors.
5. Need to get very lucky and catch several breaks at the right time.
6. Need players that match schemes. Around here OC and DC are changed so often they have way too many square pegs. Not willing to eat contracts of scapegoats ‘mmmmmcertainly doesn’t help.

-Let’s not argue with #1. He is capable with the right surroundings.

2. Never gonna happen. Will take too much of Jerry’s credit and limit his input.

3. They’ve actually done that part, which makes not doing #4 even more infuriating.

5. This team rarely gets breaks when needed, during games or otherwise. Philly handed them the two seed in 2023 and they still got blown out at home.

When you trade Micah for picks, and then suggest that you may use those picks to fix the state of the current team, that does not instill confidence in the fan base that there is a plan. The only takeaway from this is that there is really no plan, thus the 74% and rising poll. You can have hope for the immediate, but there is no denying what the fans think

I am going to argue number 1. He has never shown he is capable in the right circumstances. As i keep pointing out, he's had top 5 defenses, a league leading running game, league leading number of all-pros roster, and 1 and 2 seeds, but never got past the divisional round of playoffs depiste that.

No, a true rebuild plan has to start with a new QB. Dak will never get it done no matter what you put around him. As soon as he realizes "it's on me now" to come up big in the playoffs is when the pic sixes start flowing.

Really their "plan" is only to maintain relevance. As long as they barely miss or make the playoffs they are happy.

:lmao: You’ve got some reality issues if you base anything as fact from results of this poll. This place is overrun with haters and quitters. And if you don’t think they have a plan, you have an agenda. Of course they have a plan. The plans not working. You guys are just blinded by your hate you can’t accept anything but hate.

I don’t defend Prescott much at all. He has served up some serious crap at the wrong times over the years but I’d also argue that he has been here just short of forever and and they haven’t signed a major free agent since. That’s truly absurd.

That’s not doing all they can to win, they didn’t even do it on his rookie deal. I just think they get to a certain point where they think they are good enough to be cheap and pull things like count on Damone Clark (a fifth rounder with a neck problem) instead of spending the cash on Bobby Wagner, then end up using Bell at LB in a playoff game.

They get close, get mashed against the run in the Ram playoff game, then do nothing except draft Trysten Hill because draft picks are cheaper and they listen to assistants like Marinelli tell them what that want to hear, and who claim they can turn garbage into a top talent ready to play at a high level immediately. The boss HAS to be the smartest man in the room and playing guard for Arkansas 687 years ago doesnt qualify.

They can’t see for themselves that that can’t and won’t happen. Not defending Prescott by any means, but he can at least get you close if you don’t leave yourself with gaping holes in the 22.

The starting defense in that GB debacle then doing zero about it was what put me over the edge. Where were the Pickens type of moves when they had a much better supporting roster?

Not arguing w you bud, just on one of my Jerry rants. It happens. Peace.

And what would my agenda be? To spread hate and quit, as you suggest? You keep suggesting they have a plan, yet you have zero clue as to what it is; that's not working. As for us "haters" and "quitters", you clearly have no clue as to how a successful professional franchise is built, and as long as the Jones' own and operate this team, your factual statement of "it's not working", will continue to be true. Goodness, you won't even admit that part. You are so offended by contrarian comments by the likes of me and others on here that you are unable to see the forest through the trees. I won't decapitate your opinions or "classify" you as a homer because, as much as I disagree with your stance, I respect anybody who wants to continue on their hope.

Try accepting other viewpoints aside from your own....it can be cathartic. By the way, if you are able to put aside your hate for me, read my game day comments and come back and call me a "hater". You haven't changed.........and yeah, you called me out as a hater

What should have been added that would make it not “lazy”?
Well, the only option for “true optimists” was “no rebuild, full speed ahead”. They likely wanted something like “no rebuild needed, there is a plan in place to contend for a title this year”.

I don't know, maybe they do have a plan and it's just too rigid. They stick with players/ coaches far too long. Here's an example of a team that doesn't waste time.
Patriots.

2021 first round pick on a QB. after just a couple seasons they deterimined they aren't winning Super Bowls with him. Bye bye.

2024 another first round pick on a QB. Looks to be the real deal.

2024 new head coach. After one season, they decided they made a big mistake. Bye bye.

And they hire Vrabel and gave him the power to come in and build his team his own way.

Now it looks like they have their head coach and QB for the future. They are 4-2. They are already bouncing back .

That really says it all.

How many players have ever said they will leave if they don’t get paid? The ones who are drama queens only.

This front office hasn't had a real plan in decades. They have never been serious at addressing the QB position. Romo was a practice squad guy who was about to be cut until Carter got arrested. And only then, he came in because Parcells had enough of Bledsoe.

Dak was drafted to be the backup to Romo, who they thought would play another 5-6 years. Neither of these guys they ever planned on being the starter for a decade, it just happened.

What did this front office do when Dak/Zeke were on rookie deals? Nothing at all.
