Select which "Unit" on the team is the worst in your opinion and share if you would why you feel that way...

My first inclination is to say the secondary, but I really believe right now that our defensive line is the weakest part. THe one guy there I feel we can count on is Ferguson, but as of now we really do not have a legit back up for the guy. Canty, Spears, Hatcher, and Ratliff have all shown flashes, but I am still not sold on them. Maybe it was the defensive scheme, I am hoping that is all it was, but if they disappoint again this year they have no excuse.

I chose the defensive line as the worst -- I think it has potential to be much better with a change in scheme but at the moment it's the worst unit on the team.

Agreed with what is said thus far. On paper Canty & Spears were solid players, but they were out two worst guys out there last season, scheme or no scheme.

BTW - my second choice was going to be QBs, just because the starter is still a variable & the backup is oooooooold. Not saying it is an awful unit, but it wouldn' be considered the strongest.

Something I do like a lot about this poll - other than the defensive line, as I go down that list, I like the fact that I consider just about all the units pretty strong. This is a talented team.

DL.......no brainer.

Give me a bug sucker at the NT position that requires two blockers and can provide pressure up the middle.

Spears needs to produce more and talk less. canty needs to do more period. Hatcher looked good in flashes; play him more and we will find out; Ratlif the same.

I'm going to say D-line as well. I'm a 'game won in the trenches' kinda guy and what I saw since Thanksgiving wasn't very pretty.

yeah yeah.. I voted RBs simply because JJ has to convince me that the Tuna has not dumbed him down beyond recovery. The proof will be in the puddin this year behind and improved Oline. There are no longer any excuses... MB3 is incredible but I believe he needs a RB to compliment his style.

I almost picked LBs simply because B. James makes me want to hurl repetitiously.

Ditto:starspin

It's been said that we were playing a run defense as opposed to passing pressure. It just seems to me we got burned up in the air but I'm sure some stat wizard can clarify this. I just miss the days where we sacked the qb with some consistency..

Like many have already said, DL is the choice based off of last season.

But I am not overly worried about it. What we do have going for us at DL is youth. Canty, Spears, and Ratliff are entering only their 3rd year. Look at Ty Warren. It took him until this year before he really started to dominate. Canty and Spears have that kind of potential; I just think its a matter of time, so to speak.

The other thing we have going for us is Wade Phillips. He's an attacking type of coach whereas Parcells was a read and react type. The more aggressive defense should bode well for our young DL.

I voted RB's.

JJones still has not proven to me that he is "the guy". I don't know if MBIII can be an every down/every game back. The O-line did play better last season than previous but still not alot of 100yd games by either.

As far as my thoughts on the D-line, I think that "scheme" will make them more productive.

Just my 2 cents and yes, I do want my change back. :)

I picked the secondary because the only player there that doesn't make my knuckles go white when a play goes to their area is Newman. Watkins is still a noob, Henry isn't as fast as a CB needs to be and Roy...*sigh* let's not go there.

A MLB that can't, at the very least, run stride for stride with a streaking TE down the middle of the field makes our defense very predictable. I'm guessing Wade isn't in favor of James unless he suddenly dropped 10-15 lbs in the offseason and comes back lighter on his feet.

We become very predictable otherwise.

James in = we're keying the run.

James out = we're keying pass.

Wade is not going to like this with his defense. Think about who he had anchoring the middle of his D last year. Donnie freaking Edwards. Wade wants a 3 down MLB period. He wants to keep offenses guessing so he can be free to let the dogs loose without compromising other facets of the defense. I'm sure this Bradie James thing will become more of a story as we get closer to draft time. He is clearly in the proverbial "line of sight" right now. (at least IMHO) Hopefully he is taking this coaching change seriously.

Fix the pass rush and our secondary will shine. We have bigger issues than our D-backs.
