Starting with the AFC.
In the East the Patriots are the no doubt division champ. Buffalo could contend for a wild card, but I doubt that they will. Miami will win a game, but not this week. The Jets will Draft my RB from Arkansas.
In the North, the Steelers are the class of the division and the Browns and Ravens are in the running for the wild cards. It pains me to say that, but the Browns offense is pretty good. They should have sucked this year. Cincinnati decided to do that for them. I had the Bengals as a pre-season wild card. How stupid does that look now? Don't answer that. The Ravens will falter and fade.
In the South, there are 3 good teams led by the Colts. They may be beat up, but they are still dangerous. Jacksonville and the Titans may keep the Browns out of the playoffs. Both are serious wild card contenders. The Texans came back down to earth. You knew they would. I doubt they can leap 2 teams ahead of them.
The West is a mess. Honestly right now I'd say the Broncos are the team to beat there. I refuse to believe the Chargers will clear out of the playoffs, but they could. The Chiefs are better than I expected, but still not good enough. The Raiders are still the Raiders. Time to give the ball to JaMarcus.
1 seed...Patriots
2 seed...Colts
3 seed...Steelers
4 seed...Broncos
5 seed...Jaguars
6 seed...Chargers
Now the NFC.
In the East if anyone expects the Cowboys to come back to earth they simply aren't paying attention. I can't convince myself that 15-1 is possible, but my goodness this is fun. The Giants have to be considered a wild card and the Commanders and Eagles are not far behind. The Eagles slip further behind this weekend. The Commanders could too.
In the North it's obvious the Packers are the class of the division. The Lions have been there all year but they had to win today to convince me they were for real. 10 wins Jon Kitna? Color me a skeptic. I don't see it. I think they will fade clear out of the wild card. The Vikings and Bears are teams in transition but going in opposite directions. Strangely both are a QB away from being divisions contenders, but neither are ready for much beyond that.
In the South I don't know what to think. Pre-season I picked the Panthers and said the Saints would miss the playoffs. I still think the Saints will miss the playoffs, but now I think the Buccaneers are going. The Panthers sure aren't. The Falcons are a train wreck and have been since before the Draft.
The West is a mess in the NFC too. The Seahawks are still the best of the division but I think they'd be 5th in the East. I really do. The Cardinals have a shot at a wild card. The Rams will win a few meaningless games down the stretch. The 49ers will just cause a stench.
