Post Week 14 (2025): QB Combined Statistical Ranking

I hate to bring it up but Tony Romo had a six turnover game at Buffalo in 2007. Five picks and a lost fumble. But Dallas won 25-24 on a walk off Nick Folk field goal.
because Romo had 2 passing TDs

Thru 14 weeks of the 18 weeks...
We are through all the bye weeks, so leveler playing field, stats-wise

Weekly Disclaimer on this statistical ranking (unlike other rankings, no personal opinions)
This does NOT say which QB is "the best"....ONLY how they have played so far this year.

"Combined Stats" just means using two key stats that --when combined--almost always point to the QBs having the best season (the eventual All-Pros, MVPs, etc)

Those stats are:
1) Standard QB Passer Rating Rank
AND
2) TD-Turnover Differential Rank: Total TDs (Rushing and Passing) - Total Turnovers (Fumbles lost and Interceptions)

Here are the QB Rankings using Combined Stats thru Week 14:
  1. Stafford
  2. Maye
  3. Goff
  4. Allen
  5. Love
  6. Prescott
  7. Hurts
  8. D Jones
  9. Rodgers
  10. Mahomes
  11. Jackson
  12. Darnold
  13. Mayfield
  14. Dart
  15. Herbert
  16. Williams
  17. Brissett
  18. Pennix
  19. M Jones
  20. Nix
  21. Stroud
  22. Young
  23. Lawrence
  24. J Daniels
  25. Murray
  26. Gabriel
  27. Rattler
  28. Tagovailoa
  29. Mariota
  30. Flacco
  31. G Smith
  32. McCarthy
  33. Cousins
  34. Shough
  35. Ward
  36. Wilson
  37. Browning

Excluded due to less than 6 games: Murray, Wentz, Burrow, Purdy, Huntley, Taylor, Pickett, Ewers, Rush, Milton, Dalton, Mills, Sanders, Winston, Brosmer.Leonard, Cooks
Not a fair listing. Dak was attributed 2 INTs from the Lions game, but we all saw how those 2 INTs were all on the WRs and not Dak. Same for almost half of Dak's INTs so far this season. Half have beeb on the WRs.

So he's ranked 6th in this cherry picking stat... Should he be paid as the 6th highest QB then?
These Combined QB stats threads have been going on for many years

Not at all about Dak, more about predicting the MVP

But some folks always want to make it about him

BTW, if a stat correlates 96% to what its trying to correlate to, it’s FAR from a “cherry picked” stat.

The very definition of the exact opposite

Some of these guys have a fixation on Dak's money....they used to piss me off, now I laugh at their obsession....they don't know chit about the game, so they just post anything negative! Lol..
Reminds me of some of the booster club members, back in the day....
Hope all is well, brother. Miss those old Beer thread days. Still talk to Waldo, he's in Hong Kong right now. Came down from Malibu for a visit a while back. Salud!

The beer threads were so fun.

Salud, brother

So should the 2 near INTs that went off/through the defender's 2 hands count against him?

If WR errors shouldn't count against him then defenders' errors that otherwise would totally be Dak's fault should count against him.

Those INTs didn't happen. I know it bothers you, but why do you follow this team since it does? Or are you an opposing team's fan posing as a Cowboys fan?

Let me ask you this - do you think it's fair when a QB throws a 3 yard pass that's turned into a 75 yard gain with the YAC and the QB ends up getting credit for the whole 75?

Dumb question, of course you think that's fair, especially if the QB is Dak. You might not feel the same if were Hurts, Mahomes, or any other opposing QB, though.

Fair or not, INT's are a QB stat, just like the passing yards example I just gave you. It doesn't matter who is really to blame for the INT, the QB is the one who gets the mark, not the receiver who might have tipped a ball to a defender that lead to the INT.

In 2019 Jameis Winston lead the league with 30 INT's. How many of them weren't his fault? None of them because he isn't Dak, right? By the way, Winston was also the #1 overall QB that year, even with all the INT's. Didn't matter in the end, though, they finished 7-9 and missed the playoffs. Goes to show you how meaningless all these rankings are.

fwiw....;over the course of a 17 game season, the dropped interceptions by the defense and the ones that should've been caught by the WRs tend to balance out.

But in a single game, it can skew the results....no doubt

Shows how ignorant and desperate you are. So glad watching Dak play so well eats you up.

sounds like you got a small turtleneck on, try a medium if it doesn't keep sliding down. :D

Hurts with -5 (TDs-Turnovers) in one single game
Might be worst I’ve seen in 20 years
Remember that game at Buffalo when Romo had 6? And we still somehow managed to win that one. That game made me sick to my stomach.

A truly great comeback. Surprised that would make you sick.
Maybe the ups and downs...kind of like sea sickness? lol

Romo was a -4 that day. (2 TDs, 6 turnvovers)
So not quite the -5 Mr Hurts gave us (0 TDs, 5 turnvoers) the other night, but really ugly for much of the game

He dug Dallas a big hole...down 24-13 in the 4th and Dallas scored 12 straight in the 4th to win it

Dallas QBs have had minus 4s several times over the years (that was his only one) and even a -5 by some dude named Pulluer. But Dallas winning the game was weird. Having a "game-winning drive" even made it weirder.

Watching my QB throw two pick sixes amid 5 total INTs and having a fumble in there too. 6 total turnovers by one guy and two TD passes to the other team .. yeah that's gonna make me sick every time. Win or lose.
