With the trade deadline looming next week (Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 4 p.m. ET), NFL Nation reporters pick one player from all 32 teams who could draw interest in a potential trade:

NFC EAST
i

Dallas Cowboys
Running back Darren McFadden

McFadden was fourth in the NFL in rushing in 2015 with 1,089 yards, but he opened this season on the non-football injury list because of a broken elbow. Before he can be traded, the Cowboys would have to activate him off the NFI list. Last week he said he was healthy and ready to go and was waiting for coaches to give him the go-ahead to return. His role is cloudy because of the way rookie Ezekiel Elliott has played. Alfred Morris has handled the backup role, and Lance Dunbar is getting healthier as he returns to his third-down role. McFadden showed last season that he has juice left and could help a team down the stretch while fetching the Cowboys a 2017 draft choice. -- Todd Archer

Romo to Denver for Shaq Barrett and a 1st confirmed.
(This is satire)
He'd be dangerous there. They only lack a QB. We need him here obviously with he projected to regain his starting job in a few more games.

I am still intrigued by Joe Haden here to Boost our secondary going into next year ! Can't only think present got to take into account the future- Mo, Haden dynamic duo
I am still holding out hope for pass rush help THIS year but this breakdown doesn't bode well. I don't the Jets trade Richardson since they still have hope for a run. Similarly, now that Miami has revived itself they're likely standing pat and won't move Wake (my first choice). While mid season trades rarely happen this would certainly be the time to make it happen given where we are. It's about setting up for playoff success at this point. Fingers crossed.

I can't imagine anyone trading for McFadden. He was a product of our line, way the heck moreso than Murray was. I would think the league would be skeptical... idk. Maybe we find some dumb GM (after all, we know they exist <cough>). :)

Word out of Chicago(where I live), Eagles after Jeffery from the Bears.
I believe Jeffery would be a half season rental for the Eagles since he signed a 1 year franchise tag last year.
I hear they may be looking to trade Nelson Aguillar to either the Bears or Niners for Jeffery or Tory Smith. I guess that 1st round pick Chip Kelley used on Aguillar was a waste.

Yes. Hard to unload Darren for much with his age and injury history. Ìt would be great to pick up some passrush help.

No way does CHI trade Alshon to PHI for Agholor. Agholor is pretty damn bad.

But thanks for passing along some info, Onyx :)

lol. Too bad Jerry couldn't trade Darren to himself!! Draft picks are just too valuable unless the club could get a real young passrusher with a future. The old rentals are always too costly in the long run.

I just don't think we are gonna go after and Pass rushers, Richardson and Wake might be a good fit BUT what would the cost be though ?

That would be horrible. Wonder what the Bears are asking. Still rue'ing the Bradford trade (recouped first). Alshon should fetch at least a second, right (assuming CHI wants picks)?
I think at least a second - upgradeable to a first more than likely. And yeah. Chicago will want picks I think. What I'd love is someone like a Willie Young from their roster. Perhaps for a 3rd or 4th. He's not my first choice for pass rush help but he'd be a nice consolation.

Lmao, Haley!!!!

Yeah, I'm waiting till draft and free agency to fill the two biggest holes on D we have (DE/MLB). Like you said, Haley, draft picks are too valuable unless it's a steal, but there's only so many incompetent GMs <cough> ;)

I think Wake is in his 30's...maybe 34. Pointless bringing someone like that to Dallas unless its on the cheap...real cheap. He is a band aid and the Cowboys need longer term high quality Defensive help.

Frankly I see it as a short term win now decision in order to address our most glaring weakness. So I'd be willing to go as high as a premium pick (I.e., a conditional 3rd) but not a first. And obviously age and health would play in how high I'd go. But there are teams clearly in all out rebuild who might be willing to move an aging rusher with something left. Willie Young from Chicago is another example. Now is the time to be aggressive. Patriots are always making targeted moves before the deadline that is all about winning in the playoffs (in fact they just did). We'd be wise to emulate in this situation.

So what's real cheap? Dware was in his 30s when Denver acquired him. How did that work out?
