Anyone have info. on J.R. Tolver from San Diego State? He seems intriguing. Also, I'm wondering about Jamaica Rector. Mickey Spagnola was saying this kid had a little something to his game around the time they played Philadelphia.

Hopefully Rector improves to the point where Parcells can carry him on the 53 man roster next year - either as a 4th-5th WR or a nickel/dime CB. They have him playing both sides of the ball in practice and Mick did say he was impressing. He reportedly is very quick, elusive with loose hips which makes him a good candidate as a KR/PR as well.

It will be interesting to see what Rector can bring to this team next year unless some unknown interesting forces us to activate him this year. I'm also interested in how Matt Truillo is doing; he's certainly got the size at 6-5, 315# that we need at center but of course it all comes down to his athletic & mental abilities. Offseason conditioning program will also help a lot; wonder if he can legit challenge at least Gurode next year. After all, Eagles had a PS center that they activated as 3rd string & he played well against us in 2nd game.

Trust me....Hes quick, i actually got to see him play at Celeste High when he was a senior. By far the quickest ive ever seen. I played against his brother 3 years ago in basketball in the state playoffs and he was extremely quick as well. Rector is very explosive on kick and punt returns, but i hope he gets better so we can use him as a 4th or 5th wr. I know hes got good work ethic so im sure he will. Maybe hell be one of the 53 we dress on sunday next year.

Actually Parcells said one of the reasons Price was released was because he wanted to look at a couple of the young guys I took that to mean one of the practice squad guys.
