Jon Machota ‏@jonmachota 18m
Jason Garrett working with the linebackers, throwing passes, mixing in a little scrambling out of the pocket. Looks nothing like Kaepernick
Rolando McClain still wearing a sleeve over his right knee

BTW, According to the guys on TC, Terrell McClain has only been limited to individual drills. They believe it's unlikely he plays Sunday.

that was a shot to all ledge jumpers during training camp, when Tony wasn't practicing every single practice

Regular season practices are limited to 14 full padded practices too. Camp work is much more than regular season work.

Once the team goes into prep for an opponent each week, it's much harder to get a player up to speed on technique, identification, and adjustments.

That was as much a contributor to last season's success, as were the large number of injuries themselves.

Ugh. I can't believe I'm saying this, but that could be a big loss.

Then again, it could make no difference for all we know.

I agree with you.

At this point, I see it as a big loss as I feel we don't have an adequate candidate for the 1T and I expect to see San Francisco try to pound this defense all day long with their running game.

FWIW, Broaddus said he liked Toomer the most out of our recent roster additions.

That's good to hear, for whatever it's worth. I'm pretty down on that LB group, overall, and losing Holloman's versatility and playmaking was a blow. He was a guy I was sort of counting on to have a chance of developing into a decent starter this season. Now, Toomer's going to take Holloman's place in my head.

I was talking to a fellow fan the other day and I told him that even if this DL can manage to exceed expectations, I'm not so sure the 3 LB'ers behind them will be much help. And for the 1st 4 weeks, the secondary is 1 injury away from disaster.

Caraun Reid would have been a perfect selection as a 4th rounder who could have filled the 1 tech void. Yet we decided to reach for a backup linebacker who probably won't be see field this year and would have been available at round 7. Go figure.

What exactly happened to Terrell McClain that has kept him out so long.

Don't get me started on Hitchens. I still have no idea what they were thinking there
