Miles Austin is back at practice. Hatcher, Durant and Jones are out stretching in shorts. They are not dressed for practice.

Miles Austin is practicing on this nice day. Don't see Dunbar. Hatcher, Durant, Edgar Jones not in pads but out here.

Todd Archer ‏@toddarcher 6m
With Dunbar out Joseph Randle taking second team RB snaps
Corners working on rallying to ball for a tackle. Kiffin - Gotta see it in the ball game now
Justin Durant, Edgar Jones doing rehab work on the side.

No offense to Miles, but I don't want to see plays taken away from Beasley or Williams at this point.

Those guys are locked and loaded and we don't need to worry every play about Miles not being able to give full effort out there because of those damaged hammies.

We scored 48 without him

Maybe, but not every defense the Cowboys face will be a sieve. If he's healthy, Miles can still contribute....and there's nothing wrong with having a veteran presence in the WR corp.

Agreed but if he is healthy is a huge if and a constant worry.

Even when not healthy, he still caught almost 900 yards last year. Guy's not a bum. And if Williams & Co. continue to improve, then Austin will be released in the offseason. I have my doubts about them moving him in a trade this year. This is a win now season, and you don't give away an asset this early in the season unless you know your team is going nowhere, or it's a player-for-player swap.

Last Sunday, we saw a plethora of empty backfield sets. Dez, Austin, T-Will, the Bease/Escobar, and Witten with an improved line? There's potential there.

The ony reason Miles is practicing today is because WR Williams had a monster game and Beasley did pretty well and the offense performed better without him. Otherwise, Miles would have milked that hamstring injury for another 2-3 weeks.

Sorry, Miles. Not this year. Your act is stale and no one is watching or caring anymore.

I'd roll with those who played last week and see if they can keep it going. If so, Miles can sit on the bench.

He's great for short to intermediate third down conversions. Less likely to tweak the hammy there.

Additionally, it is only a matter of time until his next hamstring injury sidelines him again.
The Cowboys should trade him for any young defensive talent if any takers are out there.

Or, his hammy has healed.

Miles will seal his fate with this game. I'm actually not excited about this and think that T Twill and Beastely need all the reps they can get. They fit well with Dez. Miles can't ever seem to get open.

I agree. I want as many weapons as we can have. People act as if these players are trying to get hurt.
