Just calling it how I saw it last year. Yes anticipation is high following the draft and it always is but I see nothing to lead me to believe anything has changed from last year with exception to healthier players. I'll give you this. As long as TR is healthy, we'll be competitive in every game until the end. that said, TC is long and tedious and usually we have 1 or 2 impact players go down to injury. Knock on wood.

You could say that this coming year's team is much closer to 2014's, so that's not really a negative/

well I thought most would say 4-0, so I am surprised by responses.
Thing is we all think the bears and SF are the sure easy wins, but they might not be.

I can see cowboys thinking they are easy wins too, and maybe not prepare enough.

I agree that few if any games are "sure easy wins". One always seems to bite everyone.

I also think games like GB and Cincy are not sure easy losses.

If Romo plays > 14 games (like 4 of the last 5 seasons) then I see 10-6 or 11-5
Then again, I saw 10-6 in 2014 and we ended up 12-4, so who knows

The Giants and Skins can't stop this team. The Bears can be trouble if they get hot offensively, but I still think we beat them at home. The niners? Laughable.

4-0

1. The Giants have the 4th ranked offense, it was their defense that sucked last year. They did a very good draft for defense. Giants 27 - Cowboys 24
2. The Commanders are still the class of the Div and improved greatly in the draft. Deadskins 31 - Cowboys 21
3. OK, Dallas learns to play football by game three. Dallas 31 - Bears 17
4. Defense learns how to play defense, offense goes off on SF. Dallas 34 - SF 17

Record after 4 games 2-2
Record after 16 games 10 - 6 makes playoffs (Romo plays for 16 games):)

Premature to say any team improved greatly in the draft until the rooks take the field & actually prove it consistently. Even teams that win in free agency don't often yield results...and that's with vet players. Past free agency failures exist recently within the division. The Giants were the divisions 'free agency winners' overall this offseason in terms of spending/acquisitions. The Skins of course acquired Norman.

Being the class of the worst division in the NFC in 2015 with a 9-7 record, really doesn't mean much moving forward. Both the 'Boys & Giants have a chance to rebound. Dallas was the class of the division in 2014...but injuries largely derailed them. The division saw 2 of 4 coaches fired this offseason. And while the Giants did actually win a super bowl despite a 9-7 regular season record...the Skins lost 35-18 to a struggling Packers team (4-6 in their final 10 games...would have been 3-7 if not for the Hail Mary in Detroit), after leading 11-0 at home.

Will be interesting to see how things shake out. One thing I've learned to try & temper...is expectations based on unproven rookies and/or free agent acquisitions. Each season yields surprises, regardless of both. Right now, I simply hope guys like Romo, Dez, Scandrick, etc...stay healthy. If so, they'll be competitive. While I certainly have hopes for guys like Elliott...again, I try to somewhat temper expectations until ability is demonstrated at the next level.

I can't take credit for it, I've seen a few others call them that on here a while back, although I can't remember who.

Another thing - the Cowboys have gotten off to slow starts the past two years on offense, and that can be partly attributed to Romo and Dez. In 2014 Romo was clearly not himself the first game against SF because he'd practiced so little recovering from his back surgery. And last season against the Giants Dez looked like a rookie again after missing so much time in the offseason due to the contract dispute. Having all the key players entering the season healthy (fingers crossed) and with a full slate of practices will really help the offense early on.

I think part of the slow starts are due to the way the team handles TC. The starters hardly ever get much work in preseason games. Only in the practices. But then that even seems they are trying player at different positions, or different lineups. Play longer in pre season games and get them prepared, but they play it as not to get injured.
So it turns out that the first few games are really their tune up snaps to prepare.

Calling the skids the class of the division after a season like last year is interesting.
