Nice list.

Tell me about Hale and why you think he makes it?

Oh yeah. That is one strong-looking roster.

What about the scout team...predictions?

I have Hale making the squad because he is versatile on the line. that's a plus in that it reduces the need to have multiple back ups. I wanted to do a scout team/practice squad list, but I am unsure of the qualifications. If someone could post what they know, it would be much appreciated.

That roster suggests one thing -- there aren't a ton of free spots. I think that we likely only go 5 WR, leaving Amendola as the odd man out and making space for another QB

I was about to post the same thing. It may be Bartel or it may be someone else, but I think they keep a 3rd QB this season. Amendola is a likely PS candidate unless he just goes crazy in the pre-season or there are injuries to one of the other wide receivers.

I would do about the same except for I would probably take out Hale (OL) and put in Justin Rogers at OLB. I think we keep 9 backers. More special teams help from LB's and some of the guys we have on the OL are extremely versitile (L Davis, McQ, Martin) and could help elsewhere in a pinch better than Hale could, IMO.

Phillips really likes Rogers and so did Belichick, who was miffed we got him when they tried to sneak him on the practice squad. He's a good pass rusher and is just starting to learn.

Everything else is pretty much how I would list it.

I am with sandyf. Drop B. Johnson and put in R. Bartel. Johnson was more here in case Romo wasn't who we thought he could be rather than an injury option. Go with Bartel.

Is Bartel elligabel for the practice squad? If so, we could sign him form the squad if needed in case of an injury. I doubt he would unseat Johnson should Romo go down because of lack of experience, especially for a team looking to land in the SB.

How did that work out for us last season? Even with that, I agree with the keeping of Johnson last year. You can't go in with two unknowns at the most important position. But Romo is no longer an unknown. Ride Bartel.

My inside sources tell me,

QB - 2
Romo
B Johnson

RB/FB - 4
MBIII
Jones
T Choice
D Anderson

TE - 3
Witten
T Curtis
M Bennett

WR - 6
TO
Glenn - I'm on the fence on this one, but end of the day I think he signs.
Crayton
Hurd
Austin
Stanback

OL - 10
Flo
Kosier
Gurode
Davis
Colombo
Free
McQ
J Martin
Berger
Proctor

That's 25 on Offense, and on Defense 25 as well

DL - 7
Spears
Ratliff
Canty
Hatcher
Tank
Bowen
J Savaii (sp?) - I'm thinking that Wade may want want another big plugger on the DL for goal line situations, 3rd and short, etc.

LB - 8
Ware
Z Thomas
B James
Ellis
Spencer
Burnett
Carpenter
E Walden - Tough call here as well. I think Walden can play inside and outside which gives him an advantage.

CB - 6
Newman
Henry
Adam "don't call me Pacman" Jones :)
Jenkins
Scandrick
Ball - Team likes his man coverage skills.

Safety - 4
Hamlin
R Williams
P Watkins
C Brown

STs - 3
McBriar
Folk
Landiceur (sp?)

The most difficult call for me is whether we keep 6 DL and 9 LBs or 7 DL and 8 LBs.

I don't want to see the following on the 53 roster - QB Johnson, WR Glenn, and LB Walden (practice squad).

In addition, I would not be upset to see the following traded away - SS Williams, and OLB Ellis.

Add LB Rogers to the mix.
