Definitely a tough match-up; don't think the Cowboys will steam roll this week. As for the possible "thud," I hear you, but there will be a diversity of opinions on this subject (if it comes to that). Think positive; we're going to take this game...

I can easily see both sides. Perhaps that's what worries me too? I could see either team rolling in this one and I think you can make a case for either team. Odds are it's close through at least 2 1/2 quarters, but we'll see.

I have pre game jitters because I can actually see Detroit embarrassing the Cowboys. Detroit has owned us lately And I hate to say this but I think Detroit is going to win.

Past performances mean nothing. This team isn't the same like last years where we had Walmart guys on defense

Agree. Imo it will comedown to the level of execution of the Cowboys' offense. The Lions are going to move the ball and score some point. We will need to keep pace. No turnovers and none of those killer fails on 3rd and short...

It is a little scary to think of the game in terms of Detroit is the best in the league at stopping the run, which is what has buttered the Cowboys bread this season. Then you think of the Cowboys weakness, which is arguably their secondary, and here comes Megatron along with his little punk friend Golden Tate. Then visions of the last 2 meetings come to mind, and now there's the Fairley rumor, and it is enough to make one a little uneasy.

To be fair though, the Seattle game was way scarier, and Dallas took care of business that day. I know a lot of fans don't want to count that game now because Dallas won it, but in my book, it was still an impressive win.

I'm nervous too. Don't care if we win by 50 points or one point as long as we win.

I use to get nervous to the point of almost being ill before games but then I developed a mind over matter defense mechanism. I simply started trusting the team. Now I don't worry about our Boys. I started doing this after the Saints win and have enjoyed every pre game since. During the games however, I still get pretty worked up. During the Eagles rematch, when they went ahead after we had a large lead, I was infuriated. But then I just let it go and the team scored 17 unanswered. The team has done nothing but dominate opponents since then. Detroit doesn't scare me.

All you can do is trust in your team/coaches and hope that THEY are prepared and enjoy the adventure. With that being said, I can't imagine that one is a real die hard fan if your emotions don't go up in down throughout and before a game. It's kinda like... you feel what the team feels. Sometimes I'm naturally a little anxious.. but not really "worried".. as in I trust the team and what we're doing. It all varies but you don't really bleed this stuff if you don't feel anything leading up to games. Especially one like this... with what we're looking to prove and overcome... the excitement.. the promise.. the competition. I play this game out in the gym... to and from work etc. I can't help it.

It's definitely exciting to be a fan right now, especially after years of treading through the slop.

As far as nervousness, I don't really get nervous before a game we're supposed to win. Detroit isn't a very good football team and have been playing fairly poorly lately, if we lose it will be by some unfortunate scene of events that wouldn't warrant the frustration.

If we play the way we're capable, this should be a W. If we don't, well there are worse things in life than failed expectations from a sports team.

Now, when we advance to GB, I'm sure I'll feel some jitters. A mixture of excitement/nervousness, especially if we dominate the Lions.

How do you guys feel about Marinelli and his mind set facing the Lions?

I will admit it, I'm nervous. I just don't want it to end just yet.

What really makes me nervous is that everybody in America is picking us, just like in 2007. Detroit is no pushover.

This game is over by half time, can't believe people are buying into Detroits season. They are very lucky that they made the playoffs, and we are a way better team than them.

I think I know what you mean.

Not quite the same, but I get a little concerned over meaningless stuff, as if it's bad mojo. For example, that weird stat about Stafford being something like 0-17 on the road versus winning teams bugs me. I mean, something has to give at some point, right? There's another stat about Romo being 1-3 in the playoffs, and if he gets to 1-4, apparently it will be the worst winning % by any QB in the post season in NFL history. We'll all be hearing that one repeatedly this off season if this game doesn't go the Cowboys way.

Then there's more tangible things that worry me, like no Melton, and possibly no Hitchens and no Free. Calvin Johnson on Brandon Carr doesn't make me feel great. A rookie O-lineman being named an All-Pro, and now running into about as touch of a test as he'll likely have his rookie season seems to have me more concerned than most.

I suppose I also feel like there's just this assumption that Dallas simply has to much for these Lions to handle. I suppose I look at these teams and they seem as if they might match-up pretty well. It could very well come down to the team that takes better care of the football, but to others, it seems to be a foregone conclusion that Dallas wins this game.

Besides all that, I think I just don't want the season to end with a thud. Say what you will, but expectations change. While 12-4 may have been a gift when one thinks about expectations in the preseason, losing a Wild Card game would still feel like a kick to the junk. Besides, I think we're all tired of hearing "there they go! It's the same old Cowboys! Told ya' so!" If they come out and lose this game, we'll hear at least another year. I mean, some of these guys don't even analyze the Cowboys anymore, they just jump right to repeating the same old stuff. Until Dallas proves them wrong, that's how it's going to be, so I really hope this is where Dallas proves them wrong.

Take heart, a guy on ESPN radio has a bookie friend who said that more people lose money betting that streaks will end than for any other reason.

Teams developed an indentity during the course of a season. Almost every team we played this season was part of our painful recent past. New Orleans, Seattle, Philly, and Washington. All have been avenged. Now comes Detroit, let's hope the pattern continues. #SlayingDragons

I've had them since Monday. Every time I think of the game, the butterflies in my stomach start doing an air show.

Ugh. I wish Sunday would hurry the hell up.

gut feeling: lions will come to play. The media has written them off......they have some studs....a decent QB...

this wont be easy. I think both the Eagles and Colts were overrated......

we better bring it.

i do expect a win. and ill be glad to know when that becomes a fact!!!

The best approach if you can manage it is to find a way to enjoy the whole experience without giving in to stress opportunities.

Exactly. One needs to learn how to enjoy that pregame anxiety, turn it into a positive. I always equate the time leading up these types of games like the days before Christmas when I was young. Yes, Christmas morning and opening presents was great, but I ultimately recognized that it was the time leading up to Christmas, the anticipation, that was every bit as good as the day itself. And in recognizing that, I made sure I did not let one second of those pre-Christmas days go by without taking it all in. That's how I treat these games - am a little nervous? You bet. But it's the nervousness you get when the roller coaster pulls out of the station, not the kind you get before a final exam. It's all good, baby! Enjoy this time, as a Cowboys fan, you've earned it.

Don't forget the Giants. They've ruined our season 3 times now. We ended their minuscule hopes despite the OBJ show.

Poetic justice would be Romo beating Seattle, avenging the bobbled snap on our way to a Super Bowl victory against the Steelers to tie with 6 Lombardis a piece.
