Prescott is in rare form

You damn right it's not. He just became only the 5th QB in league history to hit 3+ TDs with no INTs 4 straight games. I mean damn.. You will recall 5-6 years ago when we were debating whether Dak had hit his ceiling I repeated stated that because he had come into the league with far less preparation as a passer than most QBs he had a much further journey to travel to reach his peak. I have always felt that Dak had this level of play in him but the gimmick offenses he played in in high school, college and even the Linehan offense stunted his development as a passer and then the "Yards are yards" years put him in the position of throwing it TOO damn much before he was ready to truly perform at the highest level with that volume of throws. Now you see magnificent footwork, magnificent ball placement and just masterful command of the offense. I think he has finally arrived at where Romo got to towards the end of 2013. Seeing the field at an elite level, anticipating what the defense is doing, manipulating the defense with his eyes, and best of all.. putting the ball within a millimeter of the target time after time. It's wonderful to watch, man! Of course he's gotta keep it going so we can MAKE the playoffs then do it there too. But I'm not going to let worrying about that rob me of the joy of watching this.
Paragraphs R Us

Imagine if he had the wheels that he was drafted with prior to injury. Props to Shotty for the extra motion on downs, play-action, and run fix. This is the best offensive coordinating I've seen here since Dak had Romo on the sideline with a headset on.

As for the defense, I'm still not convinced. The main improvement I saw was more man play vs zone, and the linebackers had better gap assignment on run downs. We're not getting that garbage squad of WR's every week, though. Also, not just because of the pick, but I thought Bland played tough and it's good to see him get back in football shape. Might be some of the grittiest tackling I've seen from him this year. We still need a consistent pass rush, and I hate our safety room.

And to think that there were people dumb enough to compare Cooper Rush to this man. Cooper Rush's name should have never been or ever be placed in the same sentence as Dak's name.

hes just a troll. Sometimes I engage with him but most of the time I ignore or l laugh at his takes.

I know some will never admit it, but Dak was playing well in 2023 without the benefit of a second WR like Pickens and a running Game to go with it. It is the reason he was runner up in the MVP voting.

We'll see how he finishes the season because the finish is everything. If the Cowboys get back into the race and he fails in a big game everything he has done so far will mean nothing to many fans, and maybe rightly so.

This week the Cowboys go back to Denver, and remember what happened the last time they went up there. The Bronco has a pretty good defense so the OL had better buckle up as Rico Dowdle would say. Hopefully the Cowboys study the Giants Bronco tape. Denver has an excellent secondary but apparently they don't cover the TEs as well. Time for Schoonmaker to earn his pay.

Frankly I am ready to elevate Spann-Ford ahead of Schoon at this point. He is not a plus blocker (Spann-Ford is) and he has failed to come down with more than his share of balls this season. Yes some of them would have been good catches but it IS what you are paid millions of dollars to do isn't it? He has routinely failed to outmuscle guys 50 pounds lighter than he on contested balls and frankly some have been borderline routine and he just has not made the play.

Dak’s on a whole different level right now.

I criticize Dak as much as anyone & yes he’s gotta step up in the playoffs but what he’s doing right now isn’t normal.
Dak has progressed as the years have gone by.

The first big step was fixing his deep ball, which he used to routinely overthrow.

This year with Pickens he's showing the willingness and ability to complete touch passes to a guy closely covered.

Dak used to always require separation. Now he's dropping it in where his guy can get it.

Sure, Pickens gets lots of credit for making the play on the ball, but Dak didn't used to be a guy who put the ball where the WR would win. His ball placement has really improved.

True, but Dak was also playing average to mediocre last year before his injury.

I didn't know what we were gonna get this year.

I'm surprised Dak is playing so well now. He doesn't run like he used to, but his Passer Rating and QBR are both the highest in his career. PFF has him ranked 2nd in the league, and again, with the highest score of his career.

Gotta give it to Dak. This is the best he's ever played, and it is MVP level.

Maybe we gotta give it to Jerry too. Probably most thought Jerry overpaid for Dak, but Dak is more than earning his pay this year.

I don't believe that Dak is in "rare" form. I think that he has played consistently for almost his whole career.

The offense's overall talent level and ability to maximize that talent is rare. Kudos to the HC and OC.

This season, it seems as though the coaching staff understood the necessity and impact of a productive running game. The benefits to the quarterback are abundant.

Defenses can no longer just pin their ears back and go for the QB. This is a running attack they must respect.

"Play action" passing is now a relevant phrase in Dallas.

Dak has always been a very good quarterback. If he lacks certain abilities, he makes up for them with intelligence, tenacity, and plain old hard work.

CD is correct when he says it is the best offense he has ever been a part of. The great news is they will continue to improve.

Now, about that defense.....

It's ridiculous the standard Dak has to live up to. If he was on any other team he would get praised but he is a Cowboy so he is hated.

What's hilarious is he's a 4th round quarterback whose held to higher standards than 1st and 2nd round drafted quarterbacks.

But what's extremely hilarious is how Dak is harshly judged for things that other quarterbacks get " lack of team or coaching" excuses for by the same Dak critics. Truly amazing.

Brandon Aubrey is the only legitimate MVP candidate the Cowboys have.
You're absolutely right because quarterbacks who are leading offenses that are number one in the league shouldn't be considered MVP candidates.

That wouldn't make sense....

I have no problem feeding Spann-Ford. He is definitely a better blocker than Schoonmaker. I haven't seen enough of him as receiver though. I think in general all of the Cowboys TEs are slow. But that's based on limited observations.

Agree. Even in the presser, Dak said 2 of the balls Pickens caught were just bad throws Pickens made a great play on. I think Dak is playing like he usually plays but he's got a guy who can stretch the field and make great catches. He's got a threat a rb too and CD. It's an abundance of offensive riches. Can you imagine Josh Allen or Mahomes with this much talent?

It's a shame jerry has handicapped this team with this defensive unit or we would be a legitimate threat to win the NFC.

Did you peep that replay of Spann Ford removing his man from the club on X. Dude is a mauler.. and I just remember that one pass he caught in Chicago where he rumbled for big yardage on a short pass. He's not super fast but he's big enough that I don't think a lot of DBs are rushing over to take him on. The only fast tight end we have is Stephens and he obviously has not made it back from the ACL. WHich is too bad cause that dude looked like he was about to be a star. Hopefully he gets back eventually.
