We have 52 men on a 53 man roster and only 4 CBs with one of them (Hall) a bit dinged up.

My first order of business is to add a CB for a full roster.

I'm a homer, my phone call is to Chris McAllister.

For the Practice Squad I try and bring back Travis Bright (I so preferred him to Procter), Manuel Johnson, Mike Mickens, DeAngelo Smith, Scott Chandler, Marcus Dixon, and Derreck Robsinson.

I also might ask Zach Thomas if he would come be a backup and try to trade Bobby Carpenter to appease a lot of angry fans and improve the team.

I kick myself for the 2d round tenders to Procter and Austin and blame the Jets for not following through on Austin. I might offer him in a trade to them and try and pick up someone like Ronald Curry though I probably look for a Punt Returner more than another WR.

Wow. I'm with you on everything except your obsession with Travis Bright, who I think stinks to high heaven. I like the Zach/Bobby idea alot.

I'm obsessed with Derreck Robinson, so plz don't feel bad. Also: I live in Baltimore Hos and I know you're a McAlister guy and so am I...

I even put out a bring a McAlister thread out about a week ago... but there has to be a reason noone wants him bud.

Doesn't he have some serious character issues? Please be honest. He's not well thought of here in B-more. He's burnt some serious bridges here in this city, that much I can tell you.

Zach Thomas is done. He can't cover any better than Bobby can. I would bring in Matt Wilhelm, he can't cover but if something happended to Brooking/James he would be a better filler on 1st/2nd down and then on passing bring on Bobby.

McClister I thought had some serious injuries and was done.

Mr. GM would you be interested in bringing Jayson Foster to the practice squad? He is 5'9 wr out of Georgia Southern, blazing fast. Got cut by Baltimore today

Also will we be interested in Darry beckwith?

Derreck Robinson is a 4 yr vet. (I'm pretty sure he's played in too many games to be eligible for the ps)

I think Bright was really good man. Never gets wrong footed and has great hand checks. He just needs some technique work.

McAllister was a star and wanted star treatment despite injuries. He is a good guy and his issues have been minor.

Another former Wildcat CB cut was Wilrey Fontenot. He is blazing fast, but small. Might be a good PR, though I don't know because Cason did it here.

And Zach Thomas would appease fans? He was horrible last year. Plus Bradie James has no fond thoughts of him.

We do need a vet CB to backup. Not sure why you are ready to move on with Austin. But if you wanted a vet, i think Toomer was a good one. He seemed to always kill the Cowboys. Maybe he has nothing let, i dunno.

I must have missed the 20,000 Zach Thomas threads.

Sorry about that. ;)

Let's revisit that statement at the end of the season.

He'd do, if he has anything left in the tank... so would Deltha O'Neal, who has always been a ballhawk (something the Boys could use more of)...

I don't think Robinson would be practice squad eligible, Hos... he's already played 23 games in the NFL... I have 11 candidates for the practice squad, assuming none are signed by other teams, and assuming they don't sign a player or two from other teams (which they have done in the past... the ones I think most likely will be in bold fonts:

QB Rudy Carpenter
RB Keon Lattimore
WR Jesse Holley
WR Manuel Johnson
OL Travis Bright

OL Ryan Gibbons
OL Greg Isdaner
DE Marcus Dixon
DB Mike Mickens
DB DeAngelo Smith

DB DeAngelo Willingham

And out of that group, my 8th slot would go to Ryan Gibbons...

I also might ask Zach Thomas if he would come be a backup and try to trade Bobby Carpenter to appease a lot of angry fans and improve the team.

Hey, Zach wouldn't be a bad move, hadn't thought of that... if it happened, it would almost certainly be after week 1... Carpenter's not going anywhere though, for all his well-documented weaknesses he's a fair to middling cover 'backer, and the Boys need that this season...

I think Curry's wheels are shot, pal...

That's impossible unless we cut them before 5pm central Friday, because they have to clear the 24 hour waivers first. Actually I think teams can't even start filling out their PS squads until the day after final cuts anyway (i'm not positive on this though).

He may mean those are three guys we plan on putting there... but they're not there yet. dc.com doesn't have a "practice squad" section under the roster page either.
