Hi all...

I had been a Cowboy fan since late 70's.. and I'm trying to remember previous Dallas Cowboys players using No. 81

I remembered 88's, 80's, 86's.. but none with 81

I'm just curios.. and happy because the sign of TO. I mention before on another post about what I think of TO getting coached from a coach like Bill Parcells, and I think that formula will rock. And from what I hear today on the press conference I think TO its also excited to wear a Star on his helmet.

Good luck!

PS
I hope I posted this message on the proper forum, if not please move my post to the proper area on this great forum site!

Okay lets start with the 1960s
1960-1963 Billy Howton WR-He had a pretty decent 3 year run. 161 catches, 2368 yards, 14.7 ypc, 17 TDs. He led the team in all recieving categories a couple years.

Next Number 81 wasn't till the 1970's.

1972-1974 Marv Bateman Punter. He was a freakin Punter who cares about stats? He was decen for about 2 seasons.

1975 Percy Howard WR returned a couple of kickoffs

1978 Jackie Smith-I'll just move on.

1979 Steve Wilson WR returned kicks and punts. Would later move to DB and change his number.

1984 Kirk Phillips WR made one catch.

1985 Karl Powe 15 catches for 240 yards.

1987 2 81s on the roster Kevin Edwards and Vince Courville. Courville had 1 catch for 6 yards. Edwards had a nice year. 34 catches 521 yards 3 TDs. Edwards would come back in 88 to catch 5 balls for 93 yards,

1989 Scott Ankrom WR returned a couple of kicks.

1990 Alexander Wright, I used him in Super Tecmo Bowl a lot because of his speed. Anyway never caught a TD pass but had a few returns for TDs.

1996 Tyji Armstrong was a backup TE. Never caught a pass.

1997 Scott Galbraith backup TE caught 2 passes

1998 Patrick Jeffers I remember him because I liked him and thought he would be a good reciever. He went to Denver then Carolina I think and injuries wnt on to end his career. But I always thought he was good. 18 catches 330 yards 2 TDs

1999-2002 Rocket Ismail. 158 catches 2281 yards 9 TDs

2003 James Walen I think he wore 49 also. Didn't play much but was an early Parcells favorite as I recall.

We know all the 81's since then

And if you were to combine all the numbers of the 81's that Dallas has ever had they are about half those of TO's career yards. About a 3rd the number of TDs that TO has had.
