that's right, he has good 3 years at least left. we need to corral all the talent we can get to make a good run.

1.8 million - almost totally offset by Morgan and Robinson.

My sense is we've got some cap $s left over for a reason. I'm betting we lock up Roy with a new deal that eats up some of this money and keeps us in good shape until we need to extend Witten and Newman next year.

If by mid-season he looks like a good fit and unselfish...we lock him up for a few years...Keys and Glenn are not getting any younger and he is in his prime.

Also, it reduces some of the pressure in the Draft next season.

We aren't forced to take a WR in the 1st, for example. We can stick to drafting the best player . . . . and we have time to develop a go-to WR if we do draft a top talent in '06.

Adam, you mentioend we are about 5 mil under the cap. Do you think they'll try and use that money to wrap up extensions for Witten and Roy?

Anyone else on the team going to be a UFA that we might focus that money on?

Williams is under contract thru the end of 2008 So I would bet his extension comes later


Witten should get a new deal by the end of the year His deal runs out after next season.
