Primetime and ESPN MMQB on Cowboys win

By dcfanatic, November 9, 2009 11:47 pm

Dilfer gives us the respect we deserve right now and Eric Allen just can't bring himself to do it because he's a former Eagle...

Nothing like seeing a former Eagle having to sit there and take in this glorious Cowboys victory!

I think it's too soon to get very excited either way. No need to expect everyone and their mom to be drinking our Kool-Aid. There are some other teams who have played more consistent and better this entire season.

We're on a nice stretch, but a lot of people still have the perception that Wade is a clown and that we have the propensity to collapse in December.

All I'm saying is, don't expect complete love and adoration until we get those monkeys off our back. The chance for 9-2 is nice, no matter what Eric Allen or anyone else thinks. Lets just enjoy it.

I have no problem with anyone who doesn't want to give the team props until they do something meaningful in the playoffs.

But I am still going to enjoy the ride and our various successes until that time arrives.

We can't fix December or January during November.

Take care of the here and now, those ghosts will keep.

Watching Monday Night Countdown, Boomer said that the Cowboys look good, but have only beaten one good team, Philly. I was thinking, what happened to the beat down we served to Atlanta? I guess they are no good.

Did Trey Wingo call them the "Iggles"?

Thought I heard that as well. And I believe the other night I heard someone on ESPN say Seabats when talking about Seattle.

You gotta love Brooking jumping up and down on the sideline after Witten's catch to seal the game.

I thought Romo lost his first November game as a starter and then hasn't lost since.

Also, Romo played well in both playoff games.

Yes he botched the hold on the game winning FG (I still say that was the greasiest, slickest, and shiniest ball to ever grace an NFL game). But that FG should have been trying to break a 20-20 tie score, instead of a 21-20 deficit. Remember the safety caused by Glenn going circus with the ball? Well if you take that safety away, Seattle goes for 1 instead of 2 later in the game and the score is tied at 20. There is then basically no pressure to make the kick. I bet Romo has a perfect hold and Dallas wins. Unfortunately, that safety was quite costly.

Against the Giants, Romo played a near perfect 1st half, aside from his teammates dropping passes that would have gone for 1st downs, long yardage, or even TDs. In the second half, he got a little frustrated. The OL wasnt blocking as well, the running game was not working (Barber looked gassed), and his teammates were still dropping balls. He lost his composure a bit and made some bad throws, had some turnovers, and so forth.

But when your team loses in the playoffs, the QB gets the blame.....just as when the team wins, the QB gets the glory. Same goes for the HC.

Exactly. I was ridiculously happy last night and felt great about the win. I don't need the reassurance of anyone else to further satiate those feelings.

Tony Romo lost his first November start, that utterly bizarre ending on the road against Washington where we had our potential game winning field goal blocked and a personnel foul tacked on to the Skins return put them in range for the winning kick and they made it.

Boomer is a huge Buffalo Bills and 49ers fan, and can't stand Dallas, so its hard for him to give the Cowboys props.

As soon as Romo wins in December, they will say he cant win in the playoffs, when he wins in the playoffs they will say he cant win a Super Bowl.

After he does that they will all be able to shut the heck up.

What makes this even funnier is the fact that both teams are 5-3. The combined record of the Eagles opponents is 27-38 whereas the combined record of the Falcons opponents is 35-29.

Hahaha did Trey Wingo just say that if Victor Butler doesn't get that sack, McNabb may be "off to the races"?

McNabb was at the 35 and Sensabaugh was at the 30 racing towards him with a good angle.

Since when is McNabb capable of scrambling for a 35 yard TD? What year is this again?

Not "will be".
Using "may be" the way Wingo used it there implies that there was at least a decent chance of it happening.

I love how regular season games dont mean anything anymore, only the playoffs count.

Dont you have to win those regular season games to make the playoffs???

I think you are reading far too into "may be".

Even if it was the case, it's not like where talking about Drew Bledsoe. McNabb does have a history of using his feet to make plays.

The yeabuts are out in full force. The Cowboys beat KC, yea but they aren't any good, just wait until they play the falcons. The Cowboys beat the falcons, yea but they aren't as good as we thought they were. The Cowboys beat Seattle, yea but they are suppose to beat them, just wait until they play filthy, they are going to get crushed by the weight of filthy's big play offense. The Cowboys beat the iggles, yea but Tony is undefeated in November.

The yeabuts can keep on going with their hypocrisy, I will continue to enjoy the ride while Romo and gang make them look stupid.

The Falcons gave NO everything they could handle. The Falcons are a good team. They are better than the Eagles on offense IMO.
