This may be an old issue but Prisco writes:

New England Patriots

Best pick: Trading a fourth-round pick for Randy Moss. Can you believe it?
Questionable move: First-round pick Brandon Meriweather is a good player, but there are some character issues.
Second-day gem: Fourth-round pick Kareem Brown is a power tackle who will help back up Vince Wilfork on the nose.
Overall grade: A. Why? They get Moss, get a good player in Meriweather and they traded their second first-round pick for San Francisco's No. 1 next year, which should be higher. They get it.

Dallas Cowboys

Best pick: I love Anthony Spencer. Wade Phillips will turn him into another Shawne Merriman, especially teaming with DeMarcus Ware.
Questionable move: Using a third-round pick on converted quarterback Isaiah Stanback is something that will be watched closely. Is he another Antwaan Randle El?
Second-day gem: Fourth-round pick Doug Free is a quality tackle who will push Flozell Adams to play better.
Overall grade: B. I like Spencer and Free, but third-round pick James Marten probably went a round too high.

Where's our props for getting a probable top ten pick next year?

Doesn't Cleveland's pick stand to be higher than SanFran's? Apparently we don't get it....

Not to mention they gave up a 1st round pick for a 1st in '08 and a 4th in '07.

We gave up a 3rd and a 5th for a 1st in '08.

There's really no comparison on which was the better trade, but Pete's giving them an A because of Moss. He likely had never even heard of Kareem Brown for Sunday.

He likely doesn't know the guy played WR before QB, doesn't care and didn't have the time to type it much less research it. Sloppy journalism is the norm.

Well he did say "converted quarterback" in his defense so he knew something about him at least... could have gotten the right round though, wasnt it a 4th like DC said?

Also notice how Randy Moss' crap doesn't stink now that he's with the Patriots? While Owens is the devil and is going to destroy the team.

Wonder what the reaction would have been if we got Moss... and leave the TO drama out of it.

Pats were smart, we would be morons.

I've noticed that we aren't getting nearly enough credit around the net. I mean, it seems like everyone completely leaves out the fact that we traded a 3rd and 5th for a 1st next year. Potentially a top 5 pick on top of our own. Then they go ahead and praise the hell out of Cleveland as if them grabbing Quinn at 22 came at no price.

I mean come on. Are they just ignoring the possible long term results? "Gee, of course Cleveland had one of the best drafts. They got two first round picks out of thin air!"

Same with San Fran... everyone is giving these 2 teams such high grades without mentioning what they lost, future 1st round picks.

Oh well, just a "grade" anyway... I didn't care for them too much in school so no point in letting them get to me now :D
