T. Smith is a young stud and Peppers is an old fart. It was bound to happen.

Regrettably, I see the same happening to the once great D-Ware. There are too many young stud LTs salivating at the opportunity to put D on his can. It happens to all the great pass rushers eventually. :(

Why did Green Bay sign Peppers? He seems like an odd fit in their 3-4 defense.

He can pretty much tweet the same thing about Tyron vs Jared Allen.

But then Ware kicked his *** all camp and that didn't end up mattering come game time.

Situational pass rusher, I am guessing. Think Greg Ellis in the 3-4.

It seems really out of character for the Packers. They don't generally give out big contracts to free agents. The fact that they gave out a big contract to a 34 year old declining player that does not seem like a good fit in their scheme is really odd.

I am rightfully rough on the front office, but Tyron was a home run draft pick. Every team has very good players but finding a guy at a key spot at LT is great.

Would he be a top 5 pick (minus all qb's) if GM' had a player draft? I would probably say yes on age, position and talent.

I thought so as well, but I think they have tried several OLB's in the draft the past couple of years and none of them have developed to help out Blondie. Plus he tends to get hurt quite often. Just my .02

I heard it was to play the "elephant" position, so they will have him off the LOS a bit. I always thought it was called "joker" in the front 7 but whatever. I guess in some situations he will be like a DE on others he will be a LBer in coverage.

8-7-1 has them antsy.

Remember when Ray Rhodes went 8-8 in his first season as Packers head coach? They fired him for it.

Their "draft only" strategy hasn't been working only.

Ware was a man possessed in camp and the first few weeks. Just look how he man handled Jake Long. Injuries once again caught up.

love Tyron. humble and upstanding, yet dominating presence on and off the field
