I found this quote on another site:

I'll cut right to it. Byron grew up one town over from me in New Britain, CT. He played his high school ball at a school that I later assistant coached for (one year after he left). Needless to say, I know some people who truly know Byron... know how he operates on the day-to-day, how he carries himself, treats people, works, etc.

And I can't be any more thrilled with this pick. I've only heard the best things about him. Very respectful & hard-working. I'll tell a quick story...

I'm close with someone who coached him at UConn. One day prior to the 2013 UConn season, Byron handed this coach his playbook, saying he didn't need it anymore. Turns out Byron had made a complete hand-written copy of the notebook at home. His method for studying was to do exactly that... and every 2 weeks all throughout the year, he copied the playbook by hand to make sure it was completely committed to memory.

This is a kid who defines "Right Kind of Guy." I'm a true believer that 95% of 1st round picks have the requisite physical ability to be starters in the NFL, but many of the guys who fail do so because they don't have the work ethic, don't love football, don't make the right decisions, etc. This kid lives & breathes football. He's truly a gym rat & will bring that leadership into the secondary. I view him as the secondary's version of Sean Lee (albeit with even greater athletic potential).

Welcome, Byron Jones!

Maurice Clarett on NFL Radio said it was a waste as he had not seen film of him breaking up passes at UConn and if he didn't there, no way he can against Chip Kelly, Beckham or get this RG3.

Fact that some hate it means he is probably a great choice.

CBS gave us an A-

I don't believe that most scouts know jack ****. Richard sherman was a nobody when he came out and he sure turned out well don't ya say? My point is, every player adapts to different schemes differently, some make it some don't. I don't see him being a pro bowler this year but if his work ethics are what they say, I think he will be just fine.

Dallas scouts have been spectacular hitting the last what 4 out of 5, minus claiborne. I trust them and the team coaches that does this everyday that some friggin geek that gives draft grades and writes blogs.

Welcome, Byron Jones!

Involved with every championship team or business, there are people like Byron. That kind of dedication, work ethic, and attention to detail is contagious; it makes everyone else step up.

I know he has yet to make his first NFL play, but his mere presence will soon set a tone for focus and effort that can't help but improve this team.

Dallas has had one bad 1st round pick in the last five years and that was on a guy that they did not bring in and do extensive homework on. They did their homework on Jones. Although it would be strange to say three or four years ago, this team should probably get the benefit of the doubt when they say that this kid was a good selection.

Yep.

We got a new dude picking the talent.

He's been kicking some serious ***, too.
