Several Cowboys jumped into the NFC's top five at their positions over the past two weeks, and others who were in the top five strengthened their positions.
-- Roy Williams still leads at strong safety by almost a three-to-one margin over Adrian Wilson.
-- Mat McBriar has more than twice as many votes as the No. 2 punter, Brad Maynard.
-- DeMarcus Ware still is second at outside linebacker, well behind Lance Briggs but well ahead of AJ Hawk (who jumped from fifth to third), Julian Peterson and Scott Fujita.
-- Terence Newman stayed fourth at cornerback, but he cut his deficit behind Lito Sheppard and increased his edge over Charles Tillman.
-- Jason Witten stayed fifth at tight end behind Crumpler, Shockey, Desmond Clark and LJ Smith, but he also cut his deficit by a huge margin.
-- Keith Davis stayed third at special-teamer behind Brendon Ayanbadejo and David Tyree, but he pulled closer to Tyree.
-- Andre Gurode jumped into the top five at center, reaching No. 4. He passed Jeff Faine and Jamaal Jackson, bumping Jackson out of the top five. Olin Kreutz is ahead of Matt Birk by a mile, but Gurode is just a few thousand votes behind Shaun O'Hara for third.
-- Flozell Adams also jumped to No. 4, passing Walter Jones and Jon Runyan, and bumping Runyan out of the top five at tackle. None of the top three (John Tait, Orlando Pace and Fred Miller) are pulling away.
-- Marco Rivera broke into the top-five guards at No. 5, bumping out Shawn Andrews.
-- Terrell Owens also broke in at No. 5, behind Torry Holt, Steve Smith, Anquan Boldin and Marques Colston. Coltson and Owens bumped out Bernard Berrian and the other Roy Williams. Holt and Smith have a big lead, but Boldin, Colston and Owens are all pretty close.
-- Also, Mike Vanderjagt stayed at No. 4 among kickers, and Tyson Thompson stayed at No. 4 among kickoff returners.
