Their raw stats were great, because it was just an objective record of what happened. But they couldn't resist taking those stats and adding their own special brand of magic dust to come up with their rankings, which were often questionable and occasionally hilarious.
This year they smell money, so they've stopped publishing their stats (unless you want to pay $1,500), and will focus instead on FF and click-bate articles like the one in the OP.
So, for their stats, "the people" have to rely on what somebody writing for some big media outlet understands and chooses to filter to them.
