ProBowl predictions???

Offense

Allen might make it as a backup, 3rd OG, but that doesn't say a lot for the NFC guards if he does...no one else on the line has a chance.

Witten is one of our favs, but he doesn't deserve it at all this year. Blame it on the team, but Crumpler and Shockey have both left him in the dust...no way.

WR....just won't happen....too many great ones.

Bledsoe???.... 1. Not winning 2. Hurts his chances with poor performances when the whole football world is watching 3. Currently, even his stats aren't good enough, rating him only the 5th best QB behind Hasselbeck, Bulger, Brunnell, and Delhomme...just ahead of Warner and McNabb.

RB...I don't think so.

Defense

DL....no one even gets consideration...if Glover even makes it as the backup, it's a joke.

LB....PLEASE...most of these guys couldn't even start for other teams.

DB....Sorry, Newman has played so much better this year, but he has "0" chance.

Roy Williams --> The only player on this team who would get my vote for the ProBowl...I think he'll be a backup S, not a starter, and he is very likely to be the only Dallas player to make the trip this year unless there are injuries or players begging out.

Overall, our STAR talent isn't really any better than it ever was. What we have is hope ...due to our young guys and a few, very few FA pickups (Henry). The future is YOUTH...hopefully some will develop into future ProBowlers and All-Pros.

Additional Notes

1. Our offense is now 8th in the league, behind even Arizona & Philly !!! Behind every team in our division :(

2. Our defense, a short time ago rising near the top, is now 6th, behind even Washington (no DL and injured almost all year) and Green Bay !! Green BAy??? They are in the Reggie Bush sweepstakes now, aren't they?

Our high hopes for the season, fueled by early success, have now fallen, and we begin now to face the reality that cannot be denied, the reality supported by stats, performances/effort, and team record. We aren't very good.

I am, however, still holding onto the hope that we're headed in the right direction.

And yes, I realize we still have a chance to make the playoffs...and yes, I hope like heck we do make it because anything can happen on any given Sunday :). But that doesn't change the fact that we're still not very good offensively or that we still have some serious holes on defense.

If we have another good offseason, I'm going to predict 10-6 or 11-5 next year, with a playoff birth. However, our division will be a dogfight again next season, and I think a healthy Philly will still be the favorite.

I'm going to hold off on making any predictions for our team's record next year as well as any other team's.

Until such time we know who is even on our team and who exactly we are playing, it's even more conjecture than it usually is.

A little early at this point, but ya, it is fun predicting.

Well, I predicted 8-8 this year, so I'm just surmising that we'll be better next year with another offseason. My prediction may also have been a bit of the coward's way of protecting himself since I assumed I'd catch some flak for my opinion that we don't have 1 player who deserves to start in the ProBowl and that we still aren't a very good football team...yet.

I'm not correct very often, so I'll repost this for fun :)

We still have a pretty weak team...hopefully the youth will make a difference in the coming seasons.

newman would make it but QBs dont throw at him...its the reason he will never be considered a top 3 corner in the game

there are too many other weaknesses on this team to want to throw at him. kind of like deion and kevin smith. idk about you all but i know who id be throwing at. He would also easily be in if he hadnt dropped that 2nd INT against denver that he would have brought back for an easy TD, that would have gotten him in without a question

Why would people throw it DeAngelo's way if they knew he was great? He must not be that great or teams are stupid for throwing his side.

People didn't throw at Deion's side for a reason, and it seems like people aren't throwing Newman's way either (although) - I wonder if BP has once again messed up a persons developement by having Newman play in the slot on most passing games, whereas teams like to throw to the wide outs, thus leaving Newman with less passes to defend or intercept.

Plus, when we play these close games, teams aren't in a hurry to start slinging the ball all over the place unless they're playing catch up, IOW, his time is coming.

Because Hall lines up on the other teams #1 WR 90 % of the time. I saw him against Steve Smith about a month ago and he did a great job except for that one play when Steve Smith pushed him off for a TD. Team's would rather test Hall than sacrifice their #1 reciever. Newman on the other hand always lines up on the defensive left side or plays slot, but he isn't always on the main reciever. So it isn't a matter of Newman getting his share of plays...if the defensive coordinator would allow him to always cover the #1, people would see how good he really is.

He was on Moss a few times, and shut him down.

Boy, you guys are really infatuated with Newman...he's not in the same class with Ronde Barber or D'Angelo Hall, and I'd trade him today for VAsher.

Newman is good, but please stop making all the excuses for him. Teams DO throw his way. That excuse for not making the Pro Bowl just sounds so childish and ridiculous....How the hell did Deon ever make the probowl with no one throwing it his way??!!!
