My brother in law asked me during the Thanksgiving game between the Vikes and Pat's how I like Garrett...I just laughed. I got to doing some thinking and thought how thankful I was that he's gone and we have coaches who make in game adjustments!

JG had no substance IQ for football.

He was a cloak, with prestige filling another role.

...in The Twilight Zone.

I truly have no idea how a guy like that could command the respect of an entire roster of alpha dog NFL football players.

He was a decent coach, better than many here would admit, but I am glad he is gone.

He has a specific disciplined and programmatic style that I can imagine seems impressive at first because it sorta unites everyone with mantras and a clear approach.

I think it wears thin and rings hallow after a while with its tone deafness and rigidity.

I honestly think Garrett would thrive running a football program at a major university. That kinda stuff plays well there with young men and parents. Not to mention, the players turn over every 3-4 years so the approach/message doesn’t get stale.
