Murray is a solid back and does a good job as a receiver out of the backfield. Not sure why there is always so much hype about backup RBs, especially that has fumbled with opportunities as many times as Dunbar. Anyone here remember the troy hambrick craze?

Nah, this board is fickle. It only takes one or two games for most to draw a conclusion.

Perhaps, but we all have pretty good football instinct and this appears to many of us to have become a problem for Murray. Only time will tell if this is merely a temporary glitch or if it is terminal.

Murray is what he is, a hard runner with poor vision. Vision isn't something you can fix at this point in his career. Only way to make him effective is to actually create holes directly in front of his running lane.

Sad cuz the OL is clearly better this year and the hole is rarely ever where it's "Supposed" to be.

Give Dunbar more carries. If he fumbles one more time this whole freaking season then I'd move him down the depth chart.

I love how every one has concluded that he has 'poor vision' after two games. Where was this analysis the past few years?

Thing is our backups usually do good while the starter fizzles out of the league.

the pic of the right side run against KC is one I spotted in live action. Bewildering why he could not see the open field to his right... I would have hit that hole on straight fear of being tackled and gained at least 15 yards before scurrying out of bounds, and I'm 42.

Lol, he had a wide open whole and 1 guy to beat for it to be a long run, he has to run away from the linebacker and he has at least a 10 yard gain, if he can make the Safety miss he may have been off for 30 or 40 yards even. In the other link someone posted they have about 3 or 4 pics in the giants game where there is big holes and he's running into linemen instead. He has to do a better job of finding the holes instead of forcing what supposed to be there. The online also has to be more consistent because they aren't making holes every play but more than Murray is making it seem. I said it a couple times I'd like to see if Joseph Randle can find some holes and hit them fast.

It's been talked about before the season ever started.

Maybe it wasn't as evident to everyone because the guy plays about 8 games a year.

Dude has a 4.8 AVG per run. You don't get that by running into people.

I love how you conclude that I came to my conclusion after only 2 games.

I pulled this picture off of facebook.Murray bounced this outside for a 4-yard gain. I personally would like to see more of Dunbar minus his fumbling. He has the ability to break off huge runs. On a play like this with a hole that big.. he would have had a massive run. Instead we have Murray who just loves to make contact.. get us 4 yards.

You can see the defnder already breaking away and coming across the face of Mackenzy for a free shot on Demarco. Who made the tackle?

He got 3 yards on that play. I remember see'ing it live and I stood up when I saw the hole he had to run through and then he only got 3.

You weren't alone. Dunbar has shown more ability to cut and juke. Despite the fumbles, I would actually start him on Sunday against STL. Getting benched motivated Murray during the preseason. Maybe it can do the same here. THough, you'd wish that your #1 RB wouldn't need that kind of motivation.

Per a scout who broke down every Cowboys running play against the Chiefs, Murray had just one questionable read. #Noholes #noblocking

The play was in the 3rd quarter with 12:05 to play. There was a HUGE HOLE on the right side and he ran right at Fredericks back. It was bad, really bad.

I had a thread where I dissected all of Murray's runs, this is the one run I think he made the bad read 100% on him.

THe LB had crossed Berny's Face and he and the safety made the tackle. However, after relooking at the coaches film, Berny was knocked down to one knee. He never got a blck on him....still I think Murray could have jabbed once to the outside and cut back to the middle. He got all he could from that run and taking the right seam. THe middle was open. But it is amazing how one slight misstep on the line forced him take the right seam and that freed up the linebacker to take away the cut from the closing safety. This play was at 11:22 in Q3. My 100% Murray blame goes down to about 75%.

He had one other semi questionable run, I think in this thread, but I have to lay some blame on Berny on that one as well. I'll try to find the pic and angle
