Changing the head coach would be counter-productive while we are a contender - which we clearly are.

However, it seems the Cowboys are the extremely-talented team that likes that it will win if it executes its plan. It can execute predictable plays and the opponents cannot take advantage - receiver screen was used so many times? How many formations have limited options. The team can ignore the other side's well-known tricks - insisting on defensive substitutions despite the opposing QB being known for catching defensive substitutions with early snaps. It almost seems to enjoy being the Goliath that less talented David teams can game around.

I think this attitude traces back to its roots in the 90's superbowl teams. Other teams would scheme us, but we will win inspite of this 'handicap' because the team was just that talented. Belicheat would never allow such non-optimal use of talent. It may be a difference in philosophy but it is the worse frustration when we lose. May be this frame of mind allows the team to execute so consistently that it is unstoppable. Yet, one would think this should also then translate to improved discipline when it comes to stupid penalties.

The FO and coaches should really be humbled by how we lost. I am not suggesting blowing up the coaching staff, but I think there needs to be a significant coaching addition that studies our tendencies and game-plans against us. With all Jerry's money, he should hire a really good RED TEAM COACHING STAFF to run the scout team capable of game-planning against us like the next opponent would.

This red team coaching staff should NOT report to Garrett and get performance bonus' if they manage to embarrass the #1 team in a 'war-game' on every week (Wednesdays). It would go a long way to address this frustrating weakness of Garrett and the the FO. It would also not cost any cap space.
