I think we need to give credit to them for drafting players that made an impact to the team especially the first round picks. With the exception of Morris the past seven picks in the first round have been great picks and decisions as four out of the seven picks are pro bowlers and made it to the all pro teams.

Last Seven Cowboys First Rounds Draft Picks.

(2010)-Dez Bryant (2x Pro Bowler,First-team All Pro (2014) and touchdowns leader in 2014.
(2011)-Tyron Smith ( 3× Pro Bowler, First-team all pro (2014, Second team all pro(2013,2015)
(2012)-Morris Claiborne( None)
(2013)-Travis Federick (2x Pro Bowler, Second-team all pro (2014, 2015)
(2014)-Zack Martin (2x Pro Bowler, First-team All Pro (2014) Second team all pro
(2015)-Byron Jones (None so far)
(2016)-Ezekiel Elliott(None so far)

Look I'm not trying to defend Jerry and the others there, but some of the decisions they do are the right ones with drafting players one of them

No you're right
Jerry and Jason deserve a ton of credit for building a team that is in the playoffs every year and had had a huge amount of post season success in the last 6 years

I'm not saying that a deserve credit for building a team I'm saying they should be credited for drafting impact players.

They are #1 round picks which are substantially easier to win on providing you don't try to outsmart yourself. By outsmart yourself, I mean trading your pick. (up or down)

They will get credit when their draft choices after round one improves. They've been AWFUL.

And drafting impact players does not help build a team?
I'm confused

Try going back and evaluating the drafts over the past three drafts..

I do that all the time. Why? What's your point?

See something foggy?

Name ANY team in the past six drafts who have any more Pro Bowlers drafted...no, not even New England!!

What part of after the 1st round did you miss? I said post the 1st round. We've had two. Murray and Lee since 2010 and Lee can't stay on the field.

Just kick the brain into gear before typing...present stats and not opinions, for a discussion. Other wise, back to the fog...and reasons calculated from a slid ruler don't hold steady value, when changed.

Ask someone to just explain it to you...or invest in a cereal box decoder.

Put the crackpipe down. You need to make sense when talking to me if you expect an answer.

Just think, Cleveland has been rebuilding since 1964.

I'm pretty sure Stephen Jones has had a strong hand behind the scenes with the draft selections. I keep thinking back to the story of how he took the Johnny Manziel draft card out of Jerry's hand, that could've been bad if we had drafted him...

This team has no dept. The only way we can compete is if everyone stays healthy.

While I have high hopes for Jones, it's way too early to say he was a great pick.

Sure he had a tough task last year being thrown all over the secondary and had a lot to learn.

I have high hopes for him, but there's still a chance he may not pan out.

EE should be a great player for us, but lets wait to see him play before we get the anointing oil out.

That 'story' never made much sense. The Cowboys call in to the representatives at the draft who fill out the draft card with the picks name on it. The cards in the Cowboys war room are just ways to keep track of who has been taken and who has not.

Finding talent which can impact your team most of us could find in 1st rd. A better measurement of our front office is the 2nd rd on down and why the process has been so slow in rebuilding this team back to a consistent playoff contender .
